Not a great performance by any stretch and again for much of the game we were disjointed and lacking cohesion - which with the run of results we're on is to be expected I guess.

Highlights: Ngog, and actually the Kuyt/Ngog tandem at times looked nice. Agger decent performance. Great to see Torres get a goal again.

Lowlights: ****ty defending again, lack of flair across the pitch, Mascherano thinking he's Xabi Alonso, Carragher at Right Back, and a Gerrard woefully off the pace.

Still it's 3 points in the bag - please use this as a platform for better performances.

WTF?? At times our passing football was ****ing a joy to watch...yes, we looked edgy at times, but when your defence leaks goals like we do you can expect moments of nervousness. A couple of wins in a row will sort those jitters out...Pompey next, so lets get at them!

We looked solid mainly but another sloppy late goal from nowhere

I honestly kept forgetting that Gerrard was playing. He can't be anywhere near fit - what's the point in playing him right now?

It wasn't great but there were encouraging signs and we won. You don't moan when you win, especially in our situation. Our profligacy in front of goal is worrying but missing chances is better than not creating any.

We're still a ****ing soft touch at the back though. Soft-centred and faint hearted.

You're right shaggy, we were like girls at the back at times.....

the worrying thing is, i think rafa may be looking at shoring up the defense in the next transfer window - meaning limited funds for some much needed firepower up front.

Anybody who is happy with that performance tonight is deluded. But, a much needed 3 points........if we had've dropped points tonight, it would've been catastrophic..

Not convinced the end of our poor period is over yet, but then we've got another couple of easy games coming up (though none seem easy at the moment). Hopefully the confidence will be back in time for the Villa game.

Thought Mascher had a good one, but Benny's runs into the box are the most important part of our gameplan at the moment, just give him the ball all the time. Ngog does seem to be developing into a very decent prospect.

Gerrard hasn't played well this season, I'm waiting for the real Gerrard to stand up.

Lol...i'm still hoping it's the former, and that he is only playing cos we need him at the moment...once Aqua gets fit, Gerrard may get the rest i think he's in need of.
