He hardly played at the 2006 World Cup due to injury so this thing about him not scoring in international tournaments is harsh.

Everyone can see he is playing poorly so far at this World Cup (he was England's worst player yesterday), but he is one of England's two genuine world class players in my opinion.

I thought Rooney was quite a bit better yesterday, and Barry was by a distance our worst player. He was ****e!

So having a half-decent tournament 6 years ago (when he scored fewer goals than Milan Baros) and failing to score in a tournament since is tripe? I suppose the fact that he recently went three years - that's three years, not months, weeks or games - without scoring in any competitive international is also tripe? And it follows that to say he's been absolute **** in this tournament (no goals and just three shots on target in three games) is also tripe.

I've spent plenty of time explaining why comparing Rooney to Messi is a bit like...well, comparing you to someone who's remotely clued up.

So back to Euro 2004, one goal was it that he scored?

If an international goalscoring record of about 1 in 2 is 'total ****e', what's your barometer for quality?

You're basically one of those people who thinks that if you slag off anyone remotely manc-related to the nth degree, no matter how irrational it is, you'll look like a real 'hardcore' Liverpool fan and everyone will be impressed.

I'm happy to notice that there are now more people convinced that Jovanovic is a good player, like I told in the first topic about him. It's not because he played in Belgium he ain't good.

I'm sure if he comes then he'll have a positive impact on the team. And he fits with Liverpool, he loves the fans and the fans love him. Just look at his celebrations. Fantastic. A man with the heart of a true team player.

IT is doubtful there has ever been a transfer in Liverpool’s history that has rumbled on longer than Milan Jovanovic’s impending switch.

First spoken to in January, the Serbian striker has yet to dot the i’s and cross the t’s on the three-year contract that is waiting for him at Anfield, meaning some fans are becoming anxious over whether he will actually turn up at all.

Stories linking him with Inter Milan earlier this week set alarm bells ringing but it is worth pointing out that both Liverpool and Jovanovic are committed to completing the transfer.

Birmingham are trying to hijack Liverpool's deal for Serbia striker Milan Jovanovic .

The Standard Liege hitman was due to link up with Rafa Benitez at Anfield for next season but his future has been thrown into doubt after the Spaniard left Liverpool. But just how good is he anyway? MirrorFootball gives you your essential need to know about 29-year-old Milan...

1) The 6ft Serb was born on April 18, 1981 in a small town called Cacak.

2) The striker has had spells at Shakhtar Donetsk and Lokomotiv Moscow, but he has spent the majority of his career at Standard Liege - making 116 league appearances and scoring 52 goals.

3) He is a regular starter for his country Serbia winning 29 caps and scoring 10 goals. Including a brace against Romania in a World Cup Qualifier earlier in October last year.

If and when he joins, he will still have to prove himself in the Premier League mate. Belgian football is a lower level tha Premier League and we've been stung before by players signed off the back of good world cups. So time will tell, but let's hope he turns out to be as good as you've described.
