It's worth noting that Lucas started getting better press after he cut his hair.

Some would say that it was because he improved his performances. I would say that he played at the same level, but the shorter hair meant he didn't look like a big girl and as such didn't stand out as much when he made a mistake.

TBH I always went along with dww in the sense that I didn't think he was as bad as he was made out to be. He wasn't LFC class but he wasn't total garbage.

I only really lost patience with him when he played away v Lyon and had a complete shocker, as well as showing a poor attitude in that game. I don't think he played for the club again after that one.

jovanovich looks like a passionate player, not afraid to stand up for himself. not afraid to take men on. may not be lfc grade, but we'll see.

i think it's 50/50. he might be. was never convinced by voronin.

Seems steady but not spectacular in the world cup games I've seen him in.

Deffo worth getting on a free but I wouldn't exactly be jumping though hoops if we were splashing the cash to buy him.

I'm happy to notice that there are now more people convinced that Jovanovic is a good player, like I told in the first topic about him. It's not because he played in Belgium he ain't good.

I'm sure if he comes then he'll have a positive impact on the team. And he fits with Liverpool, he loves the fans and the fans love him. Just look at his celebrations. Fantastic. A man with the heart of a true team player.

If and when he joins, he will still have to prove himself in the Premier League mate. Belgian football is a lower level tha Premier League and we've been stung before by players signed off the back of good world cups. So time will tell, but let's hope he turns out to be as good as you've described.

Birmingham are trying to hijack Liverpool's deal for Serbia striker Milan Jovanovic .

The Standard Liege hitman was due to link up with Rafa Benitez at Anfield for next season but his future has been thrown into doubt after the Spaniard left Liverpool. But just how good is he anyway? MirrorFootball gives you your essential need to know about 29-year-old Milan...

1) The 6ft Serb was born on April 18, 1981 in a small town called Cacak.

2) The striker has had spells at Shakhtar Donetsk and Lokomotiv Moscow, but he has spent the majority of his career at Standard Liege - making 116 league appearances and scoring 52 goals.

3) He is a regular starter for his country Serbia winning 29 caps and scoring 10 goals. Including a brace against Romania in a World Cup Qualifier earlier in October last year.

4) He is known to be somewhat of a free-kick specialist, and he has been Liege's top goal-scorer for the past three seasons.

IT is doubtful there has ever been a transfer in Liverpool’s history that has rumbled on longer than Milan Jovanovic’s impending switch.

First spoken to in January, the Serbian striker has yet to dot the i’s and cross the t’s on the three-year contract that is waiting for him at Anfield, meaning some fans are becoming anxious over whether he will actually turn up at all.
