The one and only statistic that is glaringly obvious is dirk's scoring rate - it's pure pish.

To be honest, this story scares me a little, as it highlights that Rafa is fixated on work rate. And not just that, but it also highlights that all he seems to look at is statistics and what they tell him about performances. Let's be honest, we would all have dropped Kuyt ages ago.
Given that, it's hardly surprising that he has suffered with Kuyt, as if all you do is look at how far he runs then Kuyt looks like a great player. Does he look at contributions in terms of opportunities created, crosses, forward passes? or just any old pass and minutes spent running around like a headless chicken?Really?

I know we differ on pretty much everything well actually on a lot of things but one thing is fore sure we are definitely on the same page on football matters mostly ... Happy Christmas You Nerdy Lab Coat Wearing Dolphin Loving ****erAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

In fairness, and I can't be arsed getting into a debate about whether Kuyt is a decent player or not, his statistics are actually pretty good. How many other right sided midfielders have as many goals as him this season? Can't be that many surely? And last season his goals and assists record was pretty damn good, again considering the position he played in.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostDoes he look at contributions in terms of opportunities created, crosses, forward passes? or just any old pass and minutes spent running around like a headless chicken?
However, I do agree he looks like he could do with a rest. Thing is people knock players like Babel for his apparent lack of work rate, yet they have digs at Kuyt for having the opposite.

In fairness it's a little more complicated than just work rate, which I did try to allude to.Originally posted by Reece View PostIn fairness, and I can't be arsed getting into a debate about whether Kuyt is a decent player or not, his statistics are actually pretty good. Well yes I know, and you alluded that his stats/contribution weren't very good, a point which I argued. Anyway let's not get into this nowOriginally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostIn fairness it's a little more complicated than just work rate, which I did try to allude to.
