Rafa Benitez claimed an in-form Steven Gerrard can transform Liverpool's season after the skipper fired himself into the history books with a goal in the 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day.

The Reds got back to winning ways with second-half strikes from Gerrard and Yossi Benayoun.

It was Gerrard's 75th league goal of the decade - lifting him above Michael Owen on 74 to become Liverpool's top scorer in the Noughties.

Big friggin deal - he's played 10 times as many games as owen in the "noughties", as you call it!

I'm happy to see him get the record - but it's really more impressive that Owen held the record until a week before the decade ends, considering he has only played half the decade here...

Isn't one of them a striker and the other a CM that also plays right wing, defense, holding midfield and supporting forward?

And as for the game count - the goblin could have stayed!

Do you think Torres can score 26 against Villa tomorrow?
                        Oh I don't know.
