No I've not heard that, but I would guess he was a bitter?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I honestly can’t remember the details, and the more I speculate, the madder I’ll sound. Someone posted it somewhere (might even have been Koptalk days) when we had a horrific run of injuries, and this just reminded me of it. I’ll definitely try a few searches when I’m home from work on a proper PC. It’s not even an overly interesting or likely story, but now I just feel like proving that I didn’t imagine it.

I knew that this is how it would be as soon as i heard he'd torn it.

No way would we get lucky with this injury i thought, not this season anyway.

The only person we spent 20mil on was Torres.

Johnson may come out the other end a better defender as Carragher did after the leg break. He can still work on the tactical side of things!

I hurt my medial ligament falling over ice skating, and it kept me out for a couple of months, that was only a strain so he was never going to come back in a month!

think Johnson was £10million or so as we were owed the transfer money on Peter Crouch

It was still £20m though, £10m cash and £10m cash owed

I'm unconvinced that anyone on here knows what the details of the deal are. It was a lot of money though. I don't think I read any figure as high as £20m at the time though.

Couldn’t find the article i was referring to, but there are a few key words in this to suggest this may have been were it originated.

The article I read took the relatively interesting parts of this, probably exagerated it, and made it relevant to the current squad at the time.

This particularly story is not worth reading, especially if you aren’t a fan of Tomkins. All it does is prove my sanity, which I started to doubt when I got no support.

I remember reading that a few years ago. Those gypsies love their curses!

Glen Johnson cost us £10m and we wrote off the £7m owed to us for crouch, we were never going to get that £7m anyway so we used it secure Johnson.
