They may well do great things for people travelling to away games but their media actions, pronouncements and plans seem to offer very little of value to the fans or the club.

Some people seem to think of them as like some sort of mystical saviour waiting in the wings but they very obviously are not. Every time something bad happens to the club someone, somewhere on the internet makes an appeal for SOS to save us and it's frankly a daft fairytale.

So, was it a response to a series of emails from this fan, or just a response to his initial email? That Guardian article seems to imply it was a series of emails, culminating in the final "blow me, ****face" email???

ay, it would be interesting to see what caused this reaction, I doubt it to be 1 well structered letter in a constructive manner. My guess would be that he recieved a series of emails as described and they probably gotten more abusive down the line.

Not an excuse for the e-mail he sent back, and he should resign in the wake of it as he has done.

                        It is very strange behaviour.

On one hand if he's been receiving a stream of abusive emails (which no doubt they have) you can kind of understand the reaction.

On the other hand it's not really an acceptable way for a member of the board to behave.

A more adult way would have been to block his emails, or if he kept changing addresses report him to the cops for harassment.

But then you have to wonder if he'd have got just as much stick for prosecuting a fan as he did for reacting to it.

The reaction but does sound to me like one of a spoilt petulant rich kid acting without a care for his position, and he's better away from the club.

But SOS are just as much of an embarrassment unfortunately.

Great news, this means a few more millions on the transfer budget/interest payment or where ever else the money goes these days.
