We scored two goals in 210 minutes against a team who is 21st in the Championship - a lucky goal from gerrard from a free kick that went straight in in the first game and an o.g. tonight.

We barely had a shot on goal over the 90 mins tonight.

Aquilani, what the **** can people expect of a forward thinking player when we have completely predictable players with poor movement ahead of him? He did give the ball away A LOT tonight but he tried to make things happen, played some lovely passes too with the perfect weight. Lucas was Lucas, if you don't like him he was ****. If you like what he brings to the team he was decent.

I thought Aquilani did quite well today the problem is people weren't moving into space, and inevitably if you are playing balls into players in conjested areas you are going to lose possession. We ran into traffic far too often on the right handside and Benayoun came inside too often on the left. We've stopped using diagonal cross field passes to open up space.

Couldn't bring myself to come on to the forum last night.

Apart from a 15 minute spell at the start of the second half we were garbage, pure and simple and what I found amazing is that our only decent patch was without our so called "world class superstars" Torres and Gerrard.

Last night we witnessed perhaps our greatest capitulation under Rafa, and hopefully the worst of the worst when it comes to our soft under belly - we really are a team that you can get amongst, rough up and know they'll crack.

I'm starting to come around to the idea that perhaps one of Rafa's key problems is actually Gerrard now - it would appear that their uneasy relationship has finally soured - and where before Gerrard respected Rafa and his decisions he now finds them baffling and isn't playing his part as team captain and fulcrum of the side. The issue for Rafa though is that Gerrard is undroppable and he is unable to take the armband away from him. Clearly Gerrard has too much clout at the club and I really think it rubs off on the other players.

The other great mystery is our defense - well, perhaps it ain't such a great mystery - we're crap and YET again Insua is exposed, first by piss-poor defending by Yossi (who was utterly **** last night) and then by his poor positioning, flat footedness, crap tackling. Carragher is also jittery and I don't want to comment on Degen.

Rafa has to bring in a left back can defend this window - one with a bit of pace about him too.

Don't know any that are under £Free. Thats the problem, no cash to spend and new players needed. I think finding Maxi was a miracle at £1.5m getting him free is something else. That guy would easily sell for £10m if one team were interested.
