What would him being a failure til the end of the season involve? There isn't really anything left to lose.

He wasnt a failure. Of the 4 teams he managed he won the league with 2 of them and runner up with the other 2. I think he was at newcastle for 2 seasons? He came secondin his first season with newcastle and FA cup final. Celtic he was there for...I think 1 season? Second in the league and won teh scottish cup. Give me that kind of failure in a manager any day.

And seriously, saying Dalglish and failure in the same sentence, you can just **** off right there. Deserves a million times more respect then Rafa ever did.

Benitez deserves some respect, even if he is hovering over the trap door. He acted with dignity when the Americans nearly ruined this club. He has transformed the club into contenders again. This season has been awful, and without any signs of clear improvement, it is worrying. But this is Liverpool not Newcastle. Benitez is staying till summer at least.

So lets at least give him the respect he deserves until summer.

Im not saying Im pro Rafa, Im just sad to see some fans turn so quick on him..........weve had shocking luck this year.......

If Gerrard and Torres had stayed on the pitch yesterday I doubt we would of been having these conversations......

IF & It's a BIG IF as i don't want Rafa to go..........

our only option should be to bring in Kenny until the end of the season. He would give the whole place a lift & he & Sammy Lee would (hopefully) inspire the players.

a few people keep mentioning Sammy Lee, but isnt he part of the problem aswell?

Who knows if Sammy is part of the problem; but in the short term Kenny would need someone to help him who is up to speed with the Prem, etc (not saying that Kenny isn't but he hasn't been in front line action for a few years know)

he was not celtic manager when they were ****....barnes was. when he stepped in from his DOF role he transformed the club from ****e to decent. that was a short term role he fulfilled well. i wouldnt say he was **** at newcastle either. not great but by no means as bad as allardyce, keegan second time round etc... besides he was great for us first time and a miracle worker at blackburn.
for the short term, its either him or hiddink.

Can anyone confirm this.. I've just been told by a bitter mate of mine so its not in his best interest to give us a silver lining in anyway shape or form.

He reckons that if we sack Rafa he will only be compensated up until he joins another club.. so basically if he was to go next week he could only be paid what is equivalent to say 5 months wages if he finds a job by June.

Good track record over all, knows what attacking football means, has won premierships before, one of the biggest icons in our clubs history and so perfect to raise moral, and also available and would cost us nothing. That doesnt sound desperate to me at all. What I find sad is people ignoring the main problems at the club and thinking sticking with a manager is better then replacing him, when theres more evidence to point out that recent clubs who changed managers suddenly started doing better.

A true great in my eyes, yes I will admit I was seething when he suddenly walk out after the Everton match, and had the strangest feeling when he won the league at Anfield - with Blackburn!

But looking back on why he walked when he did it, I totally forgive him - also, he's the one man that can put Fergie back in his box

If it does get messy and Rafa leaves then I would love to see Kenny back, if only for some unfinished business with Mr. Ferguson.

Stop living in the past, that's what has put us in such a quagmire in the first place.

Anyone who doesn't fancy Kenny, even for the short term, never saw him manage. Jose's got nothing on him - the man was doing rotation when it wasn't heard of

Kenny hasn't managed for a long time. To be honest with you, I wasn't overly impressed about his stint at Newcastle. Great player he was, and had a great 4/5 years as manager for us, but let's not rely on past glories, football has moved on.

Are you telling me that with the right people around him (Thompson, Lee) he cannot get us in a better position we are in, given half a season? Simplicity and basics are what LFC were built on, what happened at Newcastle and Celtic was a merry-go-round.

No-one currently at LFC KNOWS the club like him - I think it's worth the punt
