When we missed Alonso in games last season we still played in a similar method, players out wide and taking up space. Since his departure our team has 'adapted' (badly) to his loss and the change of game plan. For example because for the majority of the season we have had no one spraying passes about the pitch the wide players have had to come narrower to get the ball and the attacking midfielder (Gerrard) has had to come deeper for possession, leaving our striker isolated and our team without width.

Injuries have also meant we couldn't build up relationships (partnerships) as players have been in and out of the side so often.

Also poor results have resulted in lack of confidence yielding poor performances and more poor results...

I would say you're an idiot. you don't even believe what you're typing. You're worse than any WUM we've had on here. Your defending of rafa is way way way over the top. According to you he can do no wrong whatsoever. If he was charged with the maddy mccann murder you'd say he was at your house eating jam and scones.

I'd say we went gung- ho at the end of last season playing catch up when the pressure was off.
My view is that this year Rafa tried to change the defence with attacking full- backs but found they were too poor defensively to cope - and carra was too slow now to save us.
And now he's too stubborn to revert back.
If the defence was tight we'd be fine- they all look terrified just now.-

I will tell you want went wrong.

Rafa sold quality players like crouch, Keane, Bellamy and co and brought in **** like Voronin to replace them and depend on 1 striker to get our goals who is injured alot of the time now.

My God you dont have a clue.

The money from Crouch and Bellamy was used to buy Torres Voronin cost a packet of chrisps.

Ignorance beyond belief by some fans on here, how many times does it need to be said.

Torres was here when crouch was here in 07-08. But Rafa wasted crouch that year playing him only 1 in 3 games or else 10 mins. in 3 games.

Ok but the money was reinvested in the squad thats the point and Crouch got too big for huis boots and wanted out.

I think that's a little harsh, he left because he wanted first team football, I don't have a problem with that, he was a good player and I wish he'd stayed, but you have to respect his decision.

He wanted first team football because he was in the England side imo. If he hadn't been in the England set up i dont think it would've bothered him too much.

I didn't like his atitude in his last season mate he looked disinterested to me.

Whatever the reasons for him wanting first team football, I have infinately more respect for someone who will move on for first team football, opposed to someone happy to sit back and just collect their wages.

I would say he got frustrated towards the end because he was playing well and still not getting chances. I'd really have liked to have seen a Crouch-Torres partnership, I think they would have been immence, but it wasn't to be.

You can't blabber more than two words without being offensive, that's how limited you are.

You don't have to feel sorry for me, I don't live (and talk) rough like you. I won't even enter into a discussion with you because you don't seem to possess any form of intellectual depth to see the game of football beyond your limited abilities.

I've watched enough football over the years to know whether its of a decent quality or not. I don't need the likes of you defending and explaining away the bile thats been served up for periods over the last 10 years.

But hey you have a bigger IQ than me so you obviously know better.
