Every top striker in the world plays up top by himself. It's the preferred modern system. Torres played the same role at Atletico MadridOriginally posted by anfieldanfield View PostDon't really know about his injury record in Spain.
But, for whatever reason, in England he's injury prone and probably always will be. As many people have mentioned, it probably doesn't help that he plays up top by himself.

Yeah Dowd also though it was perfectly fine for their players to grab ours on every cross.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostThose cunts were bouncing our lads around the whole game in a, successful, attempt to keep us unsettled. Ref offered Torres no protection whatsoever. If Torres does decide to leave then it'll be far more about his treatment by refs than anything else IMO.

Just heard this news and it is a real ****ing low blow. Seems like this season when it rains it absolutely pisses. Sums up our season, one setback followed by another. The worst thing is I just cannot see an end to all this ****.
Time for the mofos to pull there chequebook out and get some genuine quality in now or the season could be dead and buried by the time Torres is fit."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I'd rather have either of those now rather than Kuyt or Ngog up front, wouldn't you?Originally posted by Shaggy View Post
We had to sell Bellamy to fund the Torres move. Jesus. Or would you prefer Torres had never come?
As for Keane...
...I'd rather Dalla Valle was given a try than that proven failure.

Just heard the news and like a majority on here I'm gutted absolutly gutted , But I can never stop watching /supporting Liverpool it's just not the most natural thing to do. Ok we are **** to watch at the moment and to be fair our luck is poxed but what does everyone do?, throw the towel in ? cry in a corner ? or even considering turning your back on our team? well not me , If the rest of the squad took some of the attitudes on here we will be relagation fodder come the end of the season. It's now up to the rest of the squad to grow a pair of bollocks and fight and show the rest that we are more than a two man team ,Ok so we need a fresh attacker give some of the kid's a go . Nemeth/pacheco/LDV or ecclestone surely one of them can do a job and at present a lot better than some at the moment i.e Babel Kuyt but To turn my back on this club? NEVER
Personaly I think without Stevie G we might get a bit of a response from some players because he is starting to sulk too much for my liking and that has bound to have some effect on other players . Let's get together and fight get behind Rafa and show some true fighting spirit,I remember
Alan Hanson once said " You will win nothing with kids" and we all know the rest.
We are Liverpool FC for **** sakes stop the doom and gloom
and turn this negative news into a possitive responseYou Can Lead A Horse To Water , But A Pencil Must Be Lead!

That was my point really we got rid of strikers who are better than what we've got in back up now and we never replaced them, you can;t rely on having one striker, whcih is proven by Torres being injured this season.Originally posted by Taxi View PostIts not necessarily that we needed to keep those players, but we should've replaced them with like for likewhen they went. Bellamy went to fund the Torres deal, but we got to the stage where we returned Keane and reduced our striking resources.
