We played what most people think is our starting eleven on Wednesday and look what happened!!

We have to let Rafa get on with it. Pick the team he wants to.

I think this is one of the things that have gone wrong lately. Remember when he first came, he always picked a team that confused the pundits and internet warriors and it was successful.

    I'm looking forward to it.
Its just too ****ing negative though. OK his selection can puzzle everyone at times but its its usually where he's rested someone. This is just all out defending.

As someone's already said, the confidence is very low and perhaps this is about that and could be rightly so, but still, its a truely awful line up, I'd guess its the ugliest LFC starting 11 ever, (in footballing terms).

      Off the beeb

1215: Alan Green on BBC Radio 5 live calls Liverpool's line-up today "inexplicable". The omission of £20m midfielder Alberto Aquilani, in particular, has infuriated the commentator. Looking at that team, it's hard to see how they can win today (that's an away banker, if ever I saw one).

he's doing a woolworths and shuting up shop

can understand the defensive nature but not leaving out Aquilani, apart from Stokes back 4 passing to our strikers who else is going to.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

As someone said earlier, Aquilani has had a long term injury, has been eased back into the team, played 120 minutes a few days ago (by the end of which he looked absolutely shattered). It's not rocket science really.

At least give him a start and give us some much needed attacking impetus. See how he is at half time and make a decision then. There's no flair on the pitch at all.

To be fair, a lot of people find logic beyond them, so even if it was high school science, it'll still baffle them.

Surprising line up; however, points are far more important than performance at this stage. Aquilani can't be a surprise, after being out for so long and playing 120 minutes on Wednesday, the early kick off is a big ask and we don't need another long term injury in midfield. Kuyt hat-trick today, come on the Reds let's make it three league wins on the spin.

No point trying to explain to some people, if sky say he's fit to play then obviously he should be playing.

I'm changing my prediction to 0-0, I can't see any fecker scoring against two solid walls of defensive players.

Not that at all, start him and see how he is at half time. He may be feeling good, he may not, but at least the player himself can make a decision rather than leaving it until the last 20mins.
