Rafa is simply asking for trouble by having such a negative line-up. Why not Pacheco and Max? Both are unknown qualities and may give Stoke a surprise.

As someone's already said, the confidence is very low and perhaps this is about that and could be rightly so, but still, its a truely awful line up, I'd guess its the ugliest LFC starting 11 ever, (in footballing terms).
Although I still agree with what I said before, evertime I look at the line-up I can't believe the overall lack of quality. It looks like a carling cup team.

But I guess thats what it is. Our 4 best players are out for a long time so we better get used to it.

Nothing less than 3 pts is acceptable here. Come on Redmen, smash this lot will you!

That was a joke this morning.

It's a good lineup. I could do with a sleep.

Didin't realise Salif Diao was playing for stoke. He's playing today - bet he runs the midfield!
                  Really?

Right - I'm off for my pre-match dump.

                    I maybe some time.

                      Before I go

Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez: "The players know that it is an important game for us and we have to show character on the pitch. If we can attack together and defend together maybe we can keep the balance. Today is going to be a physical game. Every game for us until the end of the season is important now and this is the first one."
If we can score more than them we can win

Maybe Jamie as captain can inspire a bit more confidence than Gerrard recently.

If they don't think he's fit for a full 90 then surely it makes more sense to bring him on as a 2nd half sub rather then starting him knowing that he'll likely need to come off at half time.

20% - a superb attacking display that ends in a comprehensive win
                                40% - a battling display and a narrow win
40% - an embarassingly turgid display that ends in familiar capitulation

I'm going for a turgid draw.
