    It's been a long time...

... since I felt the need to get on one of these forums. 2 years if the 'last visited' here is to be believed.

    But I'm bored.

Bored of reading ****e in the papers.

Bored of listening to ****e on the radio (I listened to Alan Green on the radio this afternoon and can confirm that he has in fact developed an echo as he broadcasts from within his own arsehole)

Bored of watching half arsed presenters (Steve 'what happened - I was presenting the golf a while back' Ryder particularly) taking the piss out of us at every given opportunity.

We may be having the arsehole of all seasons, but - somehow - we're only 4 points of those CL places.

We can't play any worse than we have at the start of this season.

The teams around us will ALL have a bad patch.

We ARE still favourites to finish top 4. In my (hugely biased) opinion.

I just needed to get that off my chest.

    Thanks for listening.....
What have I learned, Mr Mackay? Three things. One - bide your time. Two - keep your nose clean. And three - don't let the *******s grind you down

I'm pissed off, but still very optimistic.

If we win against Spurs this Wednesday things will start to look better again but that WIN is a very very big word cos fate is against us.

And Im pissed with Rafa for playing with fate.

          1. Fiorentina home Benayoun was one of the Forwards( he was playing behind the striker) he was subbed off around the 87' and Fio score after that.

          2. Fiorentina away Torres one of the Forwards subbed off around the 86' and Fio go on to score after that.

          3. Stoke away N'gog one of the Forwards subbed off around the 86' and Stoke score after that.

My point is fate is a bitch but dont try to **** with it. It is very very cruel.

I hope you're right Gordy Boy (nice to see you again btw).

My biggest concern is that all the teams competing for 4th place have already had bad patches too, surely one of them will finish the season strongly. That means we have to finish even stronger, yet at the moment out of all the teams, we seem to have the least sense of footballing identity, and the least momentum.

If we're going to do it then we'll have to see something change on the pitch very very soon.

              We wont get 4th.

In fact - bc thats all we have to play for its time to reassess where we are

Torres agrees and hes a smart cookie - im a fan til I die but aside from Manure when was the last time we were entertaining and a joy to watch - its a Houllier esq shocking style right now

I cringe at our attacking quality when SG and FT arent playing - we are fooking awful.

              SOS Tom and George

              OMFG

I agree and think we can get 4th, fate has nothing to do with it, some of the players are not concentrating for the full 90 minutes, hence all the late goals

Take Rooney, and to a lesser extent Berbatov out of the Man Utd team and I bet they would also struggle. Unfortunately the league is so tight this season that if you take the two best players out of any team then they are going to find things a lot more difficult. I'm not trying to suggest that Rafa couldn't have bought better in some areas to account for injuries to these two, but we're not the only team who gets weakened by losing two world class players, as the media would have everyone believe.

                    (a) I am not sure we are entitled to complain too much about the last minute goal at Stoke unless we want the one scored at Villa chalked off as well, (b) I know matches last for 90 minutes, not 89 and (c) we would not need to worry about last minute goals if we had two goal leads, but nevertheless the reality is that...

...if all our games had finished after 89 minutes we would still be in the Champions League, still be in the FA Cup, and would still be only 4 points off fourth place. Yes we would still have been playing badly since the beginning of the season and yes we would still be facing the next month or so without some of our best players (on paper at least), but that would have been an OK position to be in. People need to realise there is such a thin line between success and failure and we all have to be grown up enough to accept failure when it comes along. Fight to avoid it by all means, but accept it without having a tantrum when it is thrust upon you.

5-0 to the Red Men on Wednesday.
