    Giving up on LFC

Saw this (in Guardian's Fiver) yesterday. A bloke has given up on LFC and is touting himself to other teams in other sports as a "Diehard fan". He's started a blog about it:

Anyone one here? Mods, sorry if this is in the wrong forum....but it's Liverpool related.

Loser (not you). You can't just turn it off like a ****ing tap.

That said a Red mate of mine has given it all up in the last few weeks, although he won't be adopting a new team of course. He says he's just given up football. Nice in principle - there's a lot to dislike about football these days and this season has tested us all, but it just doesn't work. How can you just stop? As Pablo said the other day, it's instinctive, it's in-built.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Not read it,but DIEHARD FAN????? Haha what a cunt.

Does a DIEHARD fan not follow his team through good and bad times?

      What a horrible *******.

        Absolutely pathetic...good riddance to him!

Yes it's been a tough and extremely disappointing season so far (bearing in mind we're only half way through FFS!) but it's never crossed my mind to stop supporting the team.

The Souness years co-incided with me being a raging borderline alcoholic so I pretty much gave up on football back then. ******* broke my heart when he flogged Beardsley and then Saunders.

Didn't last for long but, it never does. Lol.

Yep it's like having a family member who's gone off the rails - you still love them

I've tried to relax a bit more about it this season though; it's not the be all and end all.

'Remember – LFC brought this on themselves. They didn’t know what they had when they had me, and now I’m gone! Now it’s their turn to cry!'

So what do you say? I’m casting my net wide, so why should I be your new biggest fan? Think about it – you won’t regret having a fan like me.

great a fan that when it gets tough and we have to unite in a common goal of trying to get rif of the yanks and save our Club he ****s off!. Dont neeed soft ****es like that.

I actually lost interest in football altogether from the age of 17 for a few years. Bizarre I know, but there were just other things I was into. Fell back in love with the game itself when I was dragged into a friend's Sunday league team. Never stopped loving Liverpool FC though.

I hate football right now. I really hate it. I'll still be watching the Spurs game tonight even though I don't want to.

                        It's impossible not to.
                        Oh I don't know.

What a joke, does this guy not remember the 90s?

Judging from the rest of the blog (not read in great depth), is he from the US?

Yep, I'm feeling the same. I've joked with people that I've given up on football, knowing full well I'll be watching the game tonight.....which we'll win 2-1. Believe!
