    Team huddle

I like them, gets the crowd going.

We should do it more. Well played Carra if it was him who got everyone together at the start. Did it happen at Stoke too? I missed that game.

We used to do them a while ago (can't remember when exactly we stopped) I just wondered why did we stopped doing them before?

Last one I remember was against Chelsea in the 2007 CL semi. Was great seeing how fired up everyone was, I remember Mascherano in particular had murder in his eyes.

Yep Carra organised one at Stoke too.

He's really showing Gerrard how to go about this captaincy lark.

I don't know how to put this without it sounding like I'm slagging off Gerrard, but I think that Carragher's captaincy methods are better that Gerrard's. I think that Gerrard is too quiet and a little moany, also his head tends to go down when things aren't going his/our way. Carragher never shuts up and while he is probably moaning at someone he does it in a more forceful manner, which I think makes people take more notice. Also I don't think I've seen his head go down for years, when things go against us he just seems to become more forceful and shout all the more.

Now I know that Carragher will still do the same things whether he's captain or not, but I think that the players take more notice of Carragher when he's captain than they do when he isn't. If that makes sense.

                Can't disagree with that.

I like this. Think carra made an excellant show of himself last night, i hear from a lot of people saying that he's lost his pace etc, i think last night was a good show of what he does best - getting stuck in.

Carra should be captain, then Renia, then Gerrard.

Carra was brilliant last night and his captaincy inspired a great fighting spirit but let's not get blinkered by this result IMO Gerrard inspired us to one of the greatest nights of our lives in 2005 not just his display but his inspiration as captain and infact he has done it on a number of Occasion's inc FA cup final , But taking nothing away from Carra he was a born leader and always have been very vocal I was pissing myself laughing when he shouted at Deggan last night to get the ball when we won a throw in it was hillarious " Degan Degan ..Get the ****ing ball" was his wise words.I just hope that his early season blip is now over with because I have been critical of him of late, He seems to be playing better at RB than Center half

I think the problem is that Gerrard leads by example alone more or less and at the minute he hasn't been good enough for that to work. He's also not naturally trusting of players - you can tell that at times he thinks people are not doing well enough and he hesitates before passing to them. Carragher is much more of a team mentality.

That said I still think that the team need more players who have the Reina/Hyppia/Alonso attitude of carrying on regardless even when they **** up. Other that Reina you can make cases for Lucas and Carragher maybe but too many players let mistakes get to them in my opinion.

Does he really call him by his surname? I thought I heard someone calling out Degan at the Reading game too....does no one know his first name?

Media sensationalism, 1 player alone didn't overturn a 3 goal deficiet at Instanbul if anything it was the balls Rafa showed at half time admitting he got the starting team wrong and bringing Didi on that had the biggest impact in that game.
Yes Gerrard was amazing 2nd half and extra time, he was also ****ing woeful positionally in the first half letting Milan get the 3 goal lead.
He also didn't make a double save in the dying seconds or save any penalties.

Gerrard's captaincy style is to inspire by performance and lead by example rather than being more vocal (a la Carra) the problem with this is when he sulks as much as he does it drags the rest of the team down.
Carragher as captain would be exactly the same if he was man of the match or had a shocker, Gerrard is only a good captain when he is playing well

I agree with the sulky bit , but I wouldn't lay the blame for the 3 goals Milan scored at the door of Gerrard ( bit harsh IMO) ,I agree with the point that Carra is more vocal I have said that and he has always been very vocal even when non-captain but my point is basically let's not forget what Gerrard has done since becoming captain it made him a better player which in turn made us a better team , there is a few catagories of captain and Gerrard falls into the Inspirational catagory where Carra fall in to the vocal/leadership catagory .

Well done to carra for last night keep it going , At the end of the day he's a scouser like Gerrard so being Captain or leading is in his blood
