If you disagree that's fine but don't accuse me of being a WUM when i'm just giving my opinion.
Expressing that opinion is fine. Stating it by having digs like calling Gerrard 'big time charlie' is trying to get a rise out of people which is essentially wummery.

To be fair he has explained himself and his opinion is fair enough imo.

Can anyone get Gerrards stats for the season so far ie. pass completion etc.

Look Carra would be a great captain, very vocal, committed and all that. But seriously guys, slating stevie is way out of order.
Stevie remains a magnificent captain. He is not playing well at the moment and a lot of his captaincy revolves around what he can do for us on the pitch. I honestly think some of you are being way over the top critical. I have seen a lot of great players come and go over the years and let me tell you my opinion on stevie. He is a once in a generation player, he is local and he loves us to bits. He just can't stand that we are ****e just now.
About Carra, a lot on here have been predicting the end of carra as first choice cb. Hardly in keeping with becoming our captain.

Nobody is above critisim and Gerrards seemingly half hearted performances haven't been good enough and just because someone says Carragher captain material doesn't make him Beckenbauer.

Who was captain against Spurs at White Hart Lane?

Cara is a better captain than Gerrard ever will be.

You could argue that Gerrard lets his feet do the talking.

Feet cant talk. I have not seen a Liverpool team play for each other as much as they did lastnight for quite a while, thanks to Cara. It was an awsome captains performance and just what Liverpool FC need right now.

I agree Gerrard is a once a generation footballer and I think we take him for granted but my point is that rightly or wrongly after god knows how many years in the job Gerrard doesn't cajole, encourage, bollock or find any other way of lifting his team mates, he leads by example and when his form has been poor for whatever reason he doesn't lead at all.

Carra frustrates me, good leader but his form has been poor this season and dont get me started on his aimless hoofing, for me Pepe would be the best captain.
It's nothing against Pepe but I wouldn't have a goalkeeper as captain, you need someone out there in the thick of the game who can get messages across to everyone and can consult with the referee, a keeper is too out of it

I'm not having a go at Gerrard, we're just comparing the methods of the two. I think I prefer a captain who tells people what to do rather than leading by example, Gerrard is a moody player and if his head goes down IMO that affects the rest of the team. I think when the team is playing with confidence Gerrard relishes the role, but when the side is playing badly it affects his game. Although I obviously haven't seen Carragher captain the team anywhere near as often as I have Gerrard I think he is a more natural leader, and doesn't let things affect him as much.

Agree we should i always get the kids team to do a huddle before kick off they believe in themselves more when you do one

I'm not having a pop at carra either. Carra has been my favourite player for years for his attitude and commitment.

I wonder how stevie would react to being relieved of the captaincy even if it was put to him that it was for his own good? When sami lost the captaincy he was in a rut and we then got many more years out of him. Arguably his better years.

I'd also like to know why Gerrard cant stay captain, while Carra carries on cajoling, bollocking and marshalling the team as well.

Carra's a leader, armband or not, and he can still do all that if Gerrard's wearing the armband. It's not a contest of who can be captain and who loses out, we're one team, all in it together and fighting for each other.
