    Captain's aside, I think we've established that the team huddle should be used more.

    It could even be employed as a useful defence formation on the goal line when we're under the cosh.

      Carra's a leader, armband or not, and he can still do all that if Gerrard's wearing the armband. It's not a contest of who can be captain and who loses out, we're one team, all in it together and fighting for each other.


      I'm not suggesting stripping Gerrard of the captaincy, I think we need more leaders in the team and more people to take responsibility to make things happen rather than looking to someone else (Gerrard usually) to get them out of trouble.
      The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        I agree with you there. Carra can do all the leadership stuff and motivate etc, but of course, being a defender, he's not going to be someone who they can just give the ball to and ask him to dig us out of a hole.

          To those concerned with Carra's inability to call Degen by his first name, I think it's due to the fact he can't pronounce the double p at the end of Philipp Degen's name! Maybe it sounds like that Carra would be talking scouse with a stutter!..ppp..pppp...ppp!
