Just a quick word of praise for Degen. He's never going to be a world beater, but he's really stepped up to the mark in the last few games. And it's great to see him play back-to-back games for us. He's incredibly quick, combative and surprisingly skilful. He's worked well as a RB and on the RW. I'm happy to keep him as back-up to Johnson, or as cover at RW. He should never be in the first choice 11, but he's a valuable squad player. Up there with Kyrgiakos as a potential cult hero. Someone on here likened him to Heggem, and I think that's a good comparison.

The funny thing was, he wasn't even running at full pace at any point during yesterdays game. When he does, the man is flaming quick. He was a winger in the early part of his career. In fact when I first saw him play, I could tell he was never a defender/right back. I've alwaays rated and I'm glad he's proved a lot of Liverpool supporters wrong, a lot of supporters who were slating him after he had only played one game!

Wasn't the world's best ball but Degen wasn't that acute to the goal - he should have taken the shoot on not pass the ball like a ****ing hot potato.

Much-maligned Switzerland international Degen had his first season at Anfield ruined by injury and only now does he believe he is starting to feel at home.

He has noticed a greater sense of togetherness among the squad recently and believes that will be key to their fortunes.

Damn right, i am a massive Rafa fan but even I found myself questioning him after the Reading defeat but after the heart the lads showed against Stoke my faith was restored. It wasn't knee jerk reaction either it was more of a 'what else can we do,' a resignation to the fact that there was no money and so the only thing that might get these players playing again would be a change in manager, thankfully Rafa has performed what for me is a minor miracle and got these lads heads up again.

My questions about rafas motivational skills have been answered, he uis the man.

No It was Gomes who kicked the ball out unintentionaly though and Deggan was making that point to the Spurs players Telling them that " I know what he did , He didn't put it out for our player to get attention " sort of " It was a clearance, I know, I'm not thick " .It was a good moment

If you watch it again you'll notice that Kuyt did actually call for the ball and asked for it to played in front of him, but it was just a poor pass.

Totally agree Shaggy. I don't think that there are many LFC fans who dislike Rafa the man. I will always like him no matter what happens, and those who have resorted to personal insults need sorting out. Disgraceful that.

As you say we've all been through the mill the last few weeks but we all (well most of us!) celebrated the Spurs win. It was gold dust. No matter what happens we will support the Reds in every match. We should also all support Rafa while he is the manager and up against the press like he is. There is a difference between that and believing in whether he is the manager to bring us 19. Personally, I don't believe he will ever win it (I hope I am wrong) but players, manager and back room staff all deserve the support of the fans while we are in the middle of the season. You are not alone in your frustration at recent performances and results.
