Well i wouldnt mind him playing at City and helping us beat them - even if it meant he then had to miss Blackburn at home, Wigan away and Pompey at home.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The injury he's out with now was described as a torn cartilage. The groin strain was a longer-term thing he was managing with exercise and trainingOriginally posted by TartanTerror View PostI am confused, I thought his initial injury was reported as a sports hernia? Now it seems he should be back to form after having his knee operated. If he did his knee but still carries the hernia, certainly he would not have healed in 6 weeks time?

Didn't see much of that free-flowing football keeping the ball on the deck from Arsenal the other day. They didn't do any more of it - or better - than we did and they weren't averse to a good old-fashioned hoof when they felt like it. But as that goes against the media image of them I suppose I shouldn't be saying such heretical stuffOriginally posted by RedReet View Post

Aww, nothing, maybe it’s just me. But is he implying that Rafa should take responsibility for Torres injuries, for playing him as a CF?
Or is that that if we played some lovely free flowing football, keeping the ball on the deck, like Arsenal perhaps, we’d have an injury free player? Could we keep him as fit as Van Persie or Eduardo (probably an unfair example
)? Should Carra be held accountable for so many long balls?
Maybe I'm missing his point, but the facts are he’s picked up numerous injuries playing for Spain. I’m not saying the club are completely blameless, but to make a point of saying that the club/management/Rafa/whoever should also be held accountable for these injuries because of their style of play, with no evidence to support the theory, I just find laughable. It just seems like another cheap dig to me and essentially has nothing to do with this thread.

Carra and Torres injury latest
Rafael Benitez is hopeful Jamie Carragher will be fit to return to the Liverpool defence for the Reds' trip to Manchester City next weekend - but has dismissed suggestions Fernando Torres could be set for an early return to action.
Carragher limped out of the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in midweek with a groin injury, but the problem isn't serious and the boss expects his vice-captain to make a speedy comeback.
"I was talking with him this morning when he was working on the bike and he is fine," Benitez said. "
"It wasn't very serious but he could not continue [at Arsenal]. I am not sure if he will be available for Thursday against Unirea, but maybe he will have a chance against City."
Benitez also confirmed Fernando Torres continues to make good progress in his recovery from a knee injury, but he insists speculation suggesting his Spanish striker could return at Eastlands is premature.
"I think it will be too early," he added. "He is training with the physios and the fitness coach, but he's still not involved with the team.
"We will see next week how he progresses."

Torres boost for Liverpool: Striker returns for Manchester City clash
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo....html?ITO=1490
Fernando Torres is ready to help Liverpool in Sunday's showdown against fourth-placed rivals Manchester City.
Reports in Spain suggest Liverpool's £21million record signing will be on the bench for the crucial Eastlands showdown after making a swift recovery from a knee injury.
Rafa Benitez will resist starting with Torres, amid fears of aggravating his injury in a match that could have a considerable bearing on who finishes fourth in the Barclays Premier League and claims the final place in next season's Champions' League.
Team-mate Yossi Benayoun will have a late fitness test.
The Israel international has recovered from a broken rib which has sidelined him since January 13, but did not feature in Thursday's Europa League victory over Unirea Urziceni because of a back problem.
So if we are 1-0 down in the 66th minute, I expect Rafa to make the change.

You're so defensive and 'everyone is against us', it's cringeworthy.
