LIVERPOOL co-owner George Gillett communicated his analysis of the club’s troubles last week by conducting an interview with a remote radio station in Toronto, Canada.
What an insult. Doesn’t the owner of a major Premier League club have a duty to speak directly to the supporter through local radio and papers in Liverpool, and then to the national media in England?
Among his thoughts was the notion that Rafa Benitez is one of the five best managers in the world. My answer is a current top 10, in purely alphabetical order of Ancelotti, Blanc, Capello, Ferguson, Guardiola, Hiddink, Hitzfeldt, Lippi, Mourinho and Wenger.
Rafa is good, but he’s not even the best football manager in the city where he works.
