Liverpool Unites is calling for Liverpool and Everton supporters to come together on the eve of the Merseyside Derby to nail their colours to the mast and raise money for charity.
Fans of the Reds and Blues are being invited to take part in a five-a-side tournament to be held at Powerleague in Kirkdale, Liverpool from 6pm on Friday, February 5 - the day before the 213th derby at Anfield.
Teams will play against their own supporters to establish the Liverpool and Everton 'Mini Derby' representatives, who will then compete against each other in the grand final to establish the overall winner of the tournament.
Liverpool Unites Fundraiser Tom Woolley said: "It's been really frustrating trying to organise football matches lately with so many frozen pitches causing games to be cancelled, so this is a great way to get back into the swing of playing football after eating and drinking far too much over Christmas.
"It will also allow on half of Merseyside to enjoy bragging rights for 12 hours at least before the Derby itself kicks off the next day."
The cost to participate is £50 per team, with a maximum of seven players (over 18's only) - this includes a post-tournament buffet and trophies for the winners and runners up.
To register your interest please call Powerleague on 0151 207 1122 or email [email protected].
Entries close on Monday, February 1.
