Riera did, and Maxi played well but they both kept coming in due to nothing being in the middle to aim for.

Its the same ****. We managed to beat Spurs with Kuyt as a lone striker so Rafa decided that system suits us again. Kuyt as al lone striker has only every worked about 3 times in the last 3 years Rafa ffs!!!! We come up against an awful Wolves team, stick with 1 striker and 2 defensive mids and...........
Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd will play an attacking team and destroy this lot all day long

2 points dropped and once again I blame the manager. We were awful

Ironically he scored today after Fulham failed to clear a Riera type cross from the wing.

            I miss Torres.

Its bad when all united, chelsea and arsenal want Rafa to extend his contract, our fans rather sun bath in the sun shining from his arse hole. Im sick of his clueless tactics. This Liverpool "team" is an insult to name Liverpool Football Club.

the wingers had a difficult time considering the had players behind them that just hoofed the ball at every occasion, they were never gonna hook up with them. why didnt degen play at right full?

riera and fabio have footballing brains and i am sure that maxi and johnson will do well . but by the time everyone is fit , we could be out of it

Reminded me a lot of how the derby used to be a few years ago. They battled for everything, smashed the ball up out of defence every chance they got, and tried to turn it into a scrap. For some reason, we sunk to their level, and while we battled hard, the game degenerated into a scrappy bore, where both teams were waiting for a lucky ricochet to go their way to create something.

We should have been able to rise above it, and we were marginally the better side in general play, but we did nothing when we got into good positions. Every corner was wasted (it was about 8 corners to nil but none of them were threatening), every free-kick too, and Gerrard seemed to take all of them, badly.

The game was crying out for Aquilani to come on, but it would have to have been for Gerrard, and I can only assume that Rafa wanted to get his sharpness back by leaving him on. Maxi started well, and seemed confident, but he had the **** kicked out of him at times and looked shocked by the physicality and pace of the game. Hopefully he'll know what to expect now against Bolton.

As with many games this season, on its own it's not such a bad result, it's just that we need every point at the moment to secure fourth. Won three and drawn two as we've gone unbeaten in our last five, win against Bolton and that's not such a bad run of form. Coming on the back of the preceding 10 games though it's not quite good enough.

Wolves won the majority of the 50/50's and the second balls, we are very ordinary.

Not really related solely to this match but we lack creativity and movement off the ball, the system we play doesn't allow men to get in the box, at times today we had one striker against 5 or 6 defenders in the Wolves box, we're really unlikely to get anything from that.

I was frustrated that even late on at 0-0 we didn't put them under pressure, coming into the last 10-15mins if we haven't scored we should be pinning teams back, putting balls in to the box and creating chances to make them defend. With all due rspect to Wolves they are a team that will be battling relegation and I can't recall us making their keeper make any saves of note. It really isn't good enough!

you know what this thread is missing lads???

Pete Best trying to convince himself by telling us all over and over again that Rafael Benitez is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Best bit out of the game is that Ngog seems to be really progressing. His first touch is better!

We didn't have anyone in the midfield to spread the play. Aquilani should have started so we could get the ball out to the wide players in the final third using his passing range, Mascherano and Lucas can't to this to the same effect. Alonso's passing last year was the reason both Riera and Kuyt were so effective.

That Aquilani signing is starting to look more and more like the Robbie Keane scenario.

The only difference being, is that Rafa bought him.

I feel quite sorry for the lad.
