Remember Kuyt and Lucas have an excuse they're "****".
Vonk has a sad little vendetta about these too, basically he turns in too a tit everytime they are mentioned and embarrasses his self.

The goods news is that things don't feel rotten at the core anymore. We're stringing passes together and defending quite well. Playing like the old self but poorly if you get my drift.

If we hadn't wasted so many corners it could have been the classic midweek away performance against a side who wanted to keep it ugly.

I get what you mean, we lacked creativity last night which was aggravating, I felt we needed to play it simpler, I cringed every time Mascherano tried to play a long diagonal when it was the wrong option, thought that was forcing it too much last night.

Some people on here do seem to think we are the only team who has problems like this game provided though.

He wouldn't have been watching it at home because it wasn't on TV.

I think the Icelandice team is better now than the one that won the silver at the Olypmics - I know we usually play the same six but yesterday I think everyone scored and key players got a good rest, the Russians just gave up after a going 7 down. Hope you guys beat the croats tomorrow
handball watching estersfinally some guys on here that watch something besides cricket. we should have had a thread especially for the euros

caarragher - centre half playing at right back - carragher has always been a quality defender, but even he admits he is not the right man for right back - he tries but struggles going forward and that jarvis lad was giving him nightmares.

Kyriakos - he is just an old school defender - ever **** the man or the ball as hard as you can.

Skrtel - the same as the greek, though confidence so low he seems to miss both

insua - young lad struggling for form/confidence in a woeful side

mascher - will run and tackle people all day - but doesn't have a killer pass, shot, creative bone in his body.

lucas - will run all day - cant fault his effort but he offers nothing in the final 3rd

maxi - i thought he tried, he got the ball down, tried to play football but looks short of fitness and was too often by passed by the hoof.

            riera - similar to maxi

gerrard - either not fully fit, or not interested - either way he shouldn't have started this game. Been on the bench with a view to come on if needed.

kuyt - again, another who will run all day but just not a threat

Away to wolves - who were ****ing ****.....we had at most, 3 creative footballers on the pitch - maxi making his first start and struglging for fitness, riera coming back from an injury and struggling for fitness and gerrard who is either unfit or can't ****ed.

The ball just bi passed the three 'creative players' - by either one of the defenders hoofing it, or by one of lucas/mascher dropping deep to stop the hoof, taking it off the centre backs, then hoofing it

We will not finish 4th - we are not good enough. There is no spark, no threat, no creativity and no pace in the team. No penetration - no-one who looks capable of getting the ball and having a go, putting the oppostion on the back foot.

We have been saying this for weeks now - something has to change, either we get some magical signing in too turn it round and give everyone the lift needed or rafa grows a pair and changes it.

Get some of the young lads in who are young and eager to impress - pacheco for example, he may look like a greedy ******* when i have seen him but at least we know he will try and ****ing score.

I'm going again this saturday....great - i personally would be more excited about the game if i knew say we were starting with

            ------------------------reina------------------------

            degen-----------carragher------skrtel-------------insua

            Maxi--------------Aquilani-------MAscher----------Eccelston

            -------------------Kuyt-----------Pacheco

if that was the team, it would prob shock some enthusiasm into everyone - the players and the fans. But i just ****ing know it's go to be the same ****e - 4 defenders who offer nothing going forward, two defensive midfielders, the wingers totally by passed and a striker who just works hard.

a bit unfair to leave out n'gog in that assesment imo, he was our most dangerous players, and seems to be improving rapidly. he should be playing in the absence of torres imo

personally i'd like the team for bolton to look like this

            degen-carra-the greek-aurelio
            ...maxi-masch-aqua-riera
            ..........kuyt-n'gog
            Jürgen Klopp

              When did we do that?

Ball spent more time in the air than on the ground.

                  Couldn't agree more.

I was so disheartened by what I saw that I don't think I've been able to face posting in this thread until now.

No movement, three passes barely strung together and most of our contact with the football resulted in it being leathered into the sky. Demoralising beyond belief.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

                      Agreed shaggy.

It's this continuing dire and gut-wrenching football, along with no obvious sign of it changing or anything being done to change it, which leaves me with the really gutting conclusion that Rafa simply isnt going to change the mentality & methods he's used all along, and is therefore not the right man for the job.

Logically, when you see something's not working, you change it and try something else.

Rafa seems keen to not change it, because, for some unknown reason, it WILL apparently and somehow start working.

your suggesting he takes another team that is a constantly "near there" team!

You'll get some excitement if you support Denmark, we only get our wins within the last few minutes!

Our passing felt less aimless last night even in the air. I'm comparing to the dark depths of November/December.
