**** off.Originally posted by el matador View Postit wasnt meant to be a criticism and I agree the guy is a very valuable player for us. Not spectacular but very effective.
Full credit to someone who despite being born with little talent has made such a decent career for himself out of sheer determination.
If only babel could have some of what kuyt has.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

0% inspiration? Are you ****ing mad ?Originally posted by el matador View Postif football was a talent contest then kuyt would be the ugly sister every time.
The boy is 0% inspiration and 100% perspiration but if you're going into battle you would want kuyt with you every time.
He's a great player. End of.

I can see where the 0% inspiration thing comes from but it is almost comically reductive. As shown today when he is confident Kuyt has decent touch and a lot of his link play is excellent. He also has a surprising body swerve. He certainly isn't made for speed and doesn't have the silky skills of a Ronaldo but he has a lot more to his game than mere effort. His running is intelligent, he has good vision and awareness for example.
I think he is a really very good player who gets far to much criticism for his faults and not enough praise for the little things he does."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

If only!!!Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Post**** the transfer market, we should be investing in the technology to make one person out of the two of them.
Gives 120% every game is popping up with important goals, might not be exactly what we need out wide but he offers exactly what we want from every single player who wears the red of Liverpool. From someone who isn't the greatest fan of dirk kuyt, I salute you.

Erm I doubt it. Dirk Kuyt doesn't have the same footballing intelligence the likes of Sheringham and even McAlister had. It was this intelligence that allowed them to continue into their late 30's.Originally posted by Daniel Torres View PostAnyone else think he could go on at the top for a good few years yet, sort of a la Sheringham? He hasn't got speed, so its not there to lose, he's incredibly fit, fitter than most players and he'll never lose that determination. He could be playing top flight until he's 38 the Dirk.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

Erm, I've never had anything but praise for Dirk so my thread is not a fair weather thread at all. Anyone can look at my previous posts to prove this. Also, I don't see why you have to come on here being negative. We just beat our biggest rivals?! Can't you just be happy?Originally posted by carheex View PostI'm never amazed at the fair weather, knee jerk reactions of people on here. Today he's the greatest thing since sliced bread (despite actually being a crap footballer). Give it a few more games and I can guarantee that most of you will be saying how useless he is.
