You cant beat rose tinted glasses, Carra should have walked after the first tackle of the game. Watch it again people and see if anybody can argue that it wasnt a straight red card.

I didn't see it, I managed to miss the first 3 n half minutes. Seen bluenoses whining about it but just assumed it was the usual bitterness.

Downloading MOTD at the moment, I'm sure it will have it from every conceivable angle. But to be fair you're probably right, we've come to expect a bit of biff from Carra in this tie.

              Which one?

              1) grabbed Zorba and threw him to the ground

              2) Kicked Kuyt in the head

              3) stamped on Zorbas leg

Amazingly did not receive a card.

**** it, the blue****e had everything in there favour yesterday and couldn't muster a goal.

Haha no chance. You're the first person I've seen even suggest it was a foul.

                    You're not serious
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

true, a heroic fight can be just as good as polished play, so will probably be worth the watch, and not least because it's the derby!

I'm still thrilled today that we won it and our rivals for fourth drew at the same time and lost to hull of all

And have to say the look on kuyt's face after he scored was magnificent

Kev you have got to be kidding if you think Carra should have been sent off for that tackle, there is no way that was a red card challenge.

                          On the tackles:
                          1) That Carragher challenge didn't look like a red at all. If that had been called a sending off there would have been no one on the pitch.
                          2) Peinaars tackle looked worse every time you saw if and the referee had a great view. Should have been a red but I actually think having one of their more flair players in a seemingly perpetual petty rage all match (well certainly from Carra's challenge on) worked in our favour.
                          3) While I can see an argument for Fellaini being punished too the Kyrgiakos challenge was a shocker and if you go in off the floor two footed then that is going to be a red card all day every day. Awful decision making by him.

                          On Babel:
Seems to be a topic on conversation about how poor he was and I'm not about to say he was great. He did seem to be given a different role to Ngog though - to be more of a threat with his pace - his positioning was never that of someone who had been told to close people down or hold the ball up - he was deeper and always in space.

It was something I noticed in the fist half that Everton were leaving space in midfield so you could play balls into attacking players to run at their defense with relative ease. I thought bringing Babel on to run from deeper would have been a good idea then. It was a surprise that Ngog was the one to make way but then everyone else had done well too and he was the one player most likely to become tired and that have a negative effect on his impact.

I'm fairly sure that Babel would have had different instructions to Ngog, as we were down to 10men and a goal up so we didn't need to press Everton at the back allowing them to have the ball back there allowed us to get our defence and midfield back and organised, and wasted time. What frustrated me about Babel was that unless the ball up to Babel was within a couple of yards of him he didn't look interested. A few times the balls we over hit although not by much and were closer to the defender than him, he could have got the ball if he'd tried (he certainly has the pace) or at the very least he could have made it difficult for the defender, but he didn't, and it's things like this that annoy me.

Yesterday he had a decent run out, about 30mins and although it was a difficult situation (being down to 10 men) he got a chance in what he claims to be his prefered rol and he was poor, and made little effort, at least if he'd put a shift in he'd have endeared himself to the fans somewhat. I really don't see him having a future with us unless his attitude changes.

I think the idea of changing Babel for Ngog was to get closer to Arteta who was sitting in front of the Everton back four and picking up the ball, Ngog was staying right up front and doing well holding up the ball against Distin and Heitinga, Babel was much deeper letting them have the ball. Initially when he came on he was fairly close to Arteta when he had the ball but then they swapped it and put Cahill deeper and Arteta further forward.
