    Gerrard and corners

    Why does he take them?

They almost always fail to beat the first man, then if he does manage that they go too long. His success rate (and by that I mean actually landing in a dangerzone) is absolutely piss poor.

Its astonishing that a player of his ability cannot take them well. Surely someone else could do a better job.

We've had this a million times, and it seems only Rafa Benitez and Steven Gerrard cant see the painful truth.

He took a good one for the goal against Everton

Could have been just luck though
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Rename this the dejas vous thread.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

The funny thing is that we are the joint top scorers from corners this season.

              Bet that will shock you

Seriously Taxi, this thread is a waste of server space. This topic has been done to death. The reason why he takes them is because he takes them - not very helpful.

as much as i hate those cocks SOS, how do you go about asking them to arrange a protest against gerard taking corners??
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

After Kuyt's header into Everton we have now scored 8 goals from corners this season. Thats matched only by Villa and Man City

Seriously, I think they have been better in the last few games.

To be honest Saj, despite that stat I still think Gerrard would be much more useful in the penalty area attacking corners. But the stats give Rafa good reason to keep him on corner duty

The thing is, people expect to see a goal scored from a corner in every game. I'd say a ratio of 1 goal scored from corner every 4 games is a good stat. The fact our ratio is 1:3 is pretty good.

My opinion is that I even if Gary McAlister was taking our corners, we would struggle to better our current number of goals scored from corners. The reason being, who do we actually have who is good at ATTACKING headers? Not many... Maybe Gerrard would be good but personally I think he would be better on the edge of the box, getting ready to smash in any clearence
