What happened after Istanbul.

TBH IMO all this harping on about what happened in Istanbul 5 years ago, as amazing as it was, and all the plays, books and films is just not like the Liverpool of old. It's getting undignified and, not that anyone on here will give a ****, the rest of the country are probably pissing themselves laughing at us over it. I'd quite like us to win something else now. A league, the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa Cup. Anything would do.

It wouldn't matter if we'd won 3 cups since Istanbul, Istanbul is what people would be talking about.

It's stating the obvious that we'd all like to win something else, but that does'nt detract from the magnificence of that final, and we have every right to remember that day any way we like, and if other clubs fans don't like it **** em, it's only jealousy from them that Liverpool fc took part and won the greatest ever European Cup final.. imo, and that's why it gets brought up all the time, not by us, but by the football/sporting media in general.

completely agree, the only thing that will stop everyone from talking about Istanbul is winning the Premier League.

How many other times in the history of the European Cup has a team come from 3 down in the final, I just wish we'd have won it 2 years later as well when we dominated the game.

Well said. Other fans see us as living in the past and this type of thing just proves their point. It's almost as embarassing as that video about rafa's half time talk in istanbul. Cringeworthy.

Jealousy at the time maybe, but for ****s sake it was FIVE years ago and over 20 years since we won the big one. Do you honestly think that Utd are jealous? - they've won the CL more recently and WILL easily overhaul our number of league wins...not that there can be too many people on here who can even remember seeing us win the league last time around.
If we haven't won any trophies for a while, the worst thing we can do is make "humourous" videos based on games of yesteryear.

The thing about that video is that it's the kind of thing that Utd would come up with, classless tossers that they are. For a club that has never won the Prem and with our biggest rivals soon to overtake our league wins, we shouldn't be making videos attempting to mock them when all it does is highlights how long ago it was that we actually won anything worthwhile. Very undignified.
