Not Zidane, but you're spot on with Dalglish and Barnes.

And he didnt pick Messi nor Ronaldo for 'current best player in the world'.

      It's actually a surprising choice.

Doesnt mention Messi, but he DOES mention Di Stefano as one of his favourite all time players - however, he picks someone else as his number 1

Based on that interview, rafa considers Pirlo to be the best player in the world. I wasnt sure whether to be surprised or not

He also gets asked which position on the pitch he considers the most important, and he picks the holding midfielder or central midfielder because, as he puts it, when you're wide sometimes you cant see the whole pitch well enough, but from holding midfield, you get a clear outlook on the park and are able to control the game from here.

Sounds very much like Alonso to me

Not Redondo, but it's not someone that i would've ever guessed.

It's not that it's someone ambigious or anything - it's a very famous legendary player, but not someone who would spring to mind.

I'd be surprised if anyone gets it I never would have.

Not really a surprise, should have known it would be an italian as they play with patience. For Rafa it has to be a player who can see everything and be very creative. And yeh very Alonso like

Craig is his all time favourite a player that played right through the middle of the park. From sweeper, to dm, to cm, to playmaker?

FFS and Alonso is better than Pirlo too.

Have to say, it's a shame you cant just buy the dvd (although it's on ebay for about a fiver) as it's a really enjoyable watch. It shows Rafa in his true light, as a charasmatic, entertaining and warm, friendly bloke.

Some of it is pretty funny, including where he's asked if he's ever played golf, and he mentions an occasion where he had a go on a driving range and, in his words, almost killed someone so he doesnt bother with golf anymore
