A mixture of 1 or 2 youngsters with the usual supects. Beat Unirea then we play either Fenerbache or Lille and we will beat them. Before you kno it we are in the last 8 of the competition. You intrested now

They are in some kind of (mid/post)season break and played Northwich Victoria to get match fitness and got beat 1-0.

Really, any reports of the game? I think we have to take this seriously, I want a cup, anything will do, IF* we win we can say to Arsenal, "well at least we have won something over the last five years". We cant go four, five years without winning something.

i would rather finish 4th this year and get dumped out of the Europa Cup. We have to be playing CL footy next season. Its a sad day in football when 4th is nore important than a trophy but it is.

On a sidenote, it would be a nightmare if City get 4th with there deep pockets and the lure of CL footy they would get some real quality in.

Actually, I want to finish in fourth AND win the Europa League, at least go for both with realistic expectations. Sure we can rotate a bit more in Europe but I want us to go for it as well and take it seriously. What if we finish 5th and go out of the Europa League? Go for both and no pussyfooting around.

There will be times when we need to rest players in the Europa to try to get all 3 points on the weekend and this is one of those matches. Supposedly weaker opposition and we are at home. Rest a few big guns with City match in mind but defo not put out all the kids.

we';ve played in far less meaningless unimportant games against worse teams (they'll be better than we think they are and we shouldnt be complacent) so Im sure thats not exactly true probably more to do with the expectation following last year and the way things have gone, and to everyone who thinks this is a meaningless cup good you wont want a ticket if we get to the final then and im sure you'll still be celebrating if we win it, stop being so fickle. its a trophy and should not be knocked

On sunday they play CFR Cluj so they have very big game after this one, I wonder how they will approach this being in the midst of title battle. We need to go out to hammer them now and hopefully we can relax abit in the next leg.

I''d be delighted with 4th and the Europa League, although it will be difficult to achieve even one of those targets. Would also be good experience for the younger players to reach a final in Europe.

Would a CL team who were very close to qualifying for the latter stages be any worse than say, Portsmouth or Wolves?

I think they'll have far more quality than them, but the game might be slower paced, so Aquilani could have more time on the ball.
