Christ, this is like watching training - attack vs defence. They're parking the bus, we've had about 10 half chances and corners, but nothing clear cut yet (unless one of the 15 or so deflected shots were heading for the corner of the net). Clearly the better side, but short on a bit of magic in the final third. Keep going, stay patient and it will come.

I know he's young, I know he's untried, I know it's a big step up from the reserves, but Pacheco is exactly the right sort of player for this sort of game. Hope he gets on second half if it stays at nil nil for any length of time.

Same old same old when a team sets up to stop us breaking them down, we simply cant do it. Predictable inept one-paced pedestrian 25 sideways and backwards passes that get us nowhere. Same old lack of someone to step it up a gear or someone that creates something different. Against a no mark Romanian side. Nobody to up the tempo or beat his man. As Taylor's said in commentary, we've yet to get behind them and make them defend facing their own goal.

I think games like this are where we lack a secon real striker. The ball is bouncing about in the box there could be chances, if there were people in there, also only having Ngog against all their defenders when balls are delivered from wide

We wont do this but I'd be tempted to stick Pacheco on for Aquilani, play him off Ngog and slot Gerrard into midfield, then hopefully Pacheco can play in that congested area just outside the penalty area.
