I think we're continuing our steady improvement but we're lacking in the final third. We've deserved more from our game against Arsenal and we were the better team today against a very defensive City who were playing at home. Not a bad result at all, could have been better if we'd won obviously but all in all it wasn't disastrous.

As I've said before, we don't have the right balance of graft and craft. We lack creativity, we need someone with pace an flair who can do something special to turn a match.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Does anyone else think that Gerrard has not looked as dynamic as he has done in previous seasons?

Could it be that he is losing some of his athleticism?

His dynamic runs/bursts/shots are one of his trademarks. We are seeing less and less of them and he is not the same player without them.

Sadly, we have **** all money to do anything about it.

Jesus, if I have to watch us in the UEFA Cup again next season, I might well be forced to hang myself.
            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

It isn't just the attack, at the moment we couldn't score in a brothel, we aren't making the chances, we are to predictable. We concentrate on stopping them scoring to often, any offensive play, away from home is considered a bonus by Benetez.

City were playing defensively and they were the home team.

You were excusing our performance by making a generalistion.

That doesn't hold any water for me.

I was thinking that, this season has been like having Gerrard lite for a lot of it.

It was a poor game but, as the away side, we come out of it with more credit. City didn't seem to want to attack and our defence had a very easy time of it. In fact City looked like the away team in a European tie. We did have a lot of the ball in their half but no cutting edge.

Unfortunately when Gerrard isn't playing well in that key position in the hole we seem to struggle. He was off the pace again so there was no real link up between the DMs, the wide players and the striker.

Anyway, it was a tricky away game on paper but we were the better team and we got a good point

I was just saying that sadly that is how these games often are, it is stating a fact, not making excuses.

Positives: Skrtel and Agger played well. So did Reina. It was also good to see Benayoun and Torres back.

Negatives: Very poor game. It was like watching school boy football.

Our performance didn’t surprise me – we’ve been poor for most of the season. However, I still believe we’ve got the nucleus of a very good team but we need a fresh approach.

I don’t think we’ll get fourth place now. We might even struggle for fifth. The sooner this season is over, the better.
                                Another MASSIVE game
