Craig can't bring himself to acknowledge anything positive about Lucas, it's a psychological thing

Surprised no one has mentioned Kuyt. I thought he was excellent. His link up play all game was a joy to watch and makes you wonder why it’s so widely accepted that he has no first touch. He was receiving balls on the turn, playing lovely first time passes, and seemed to go past players with ease. It obviously goes without saying that he also closed down every ball within 50 metres of him.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Obviously I'm only going by the extended highlights on Sky, but I agree with you and thought this whilst watching it. Decent overhead effort as wellOriginally posted by RedReet View PostSurprised no one has mentioned Kuyt. I thought he was excellent. I thought he did quite well. When watching the game at the time I thought he had an average first half and that Gerrard and Kuyt were our standout performers. In saying that though, he was still involved early on for the first goal, albeit with a simple first touch pass, and obviously hit the pass for the second. In the second half, I thought Gerrard was very quiet and Lucas was involved a lot more, although Lucas always seems to stand out more towards the end of a game.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostTo be honest, he wasnt hugely noticeable. Solid but didnt make a significant impact. Most notable things i remember are when he lost the ball in his own half in the opening 45 minutes and this led to a dangerous moment for us. And when he was manhandled to the ground. Plus the slightly overhit pass to Torres, which indirectly led to our winner. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

good to see nando back. hopefully he wasnt rushed back too early......hate to see him miss the world cup
seriously though, he looked well rusty and off the pace but still was a thorn in the blackburn side. once he gets sharpness back i'll be feeling a bit more confident over 4th place.
whats happening with aqua? at final whistle he looked ****ing terrible - depressed as ****. he injured or what????
disappointed babel didnt get the start he deserved but hopefully he'll start against wigan.
maxi getting better but still not the winger we crying out for. nice touches though and his sharpness getting there too. showed bit of understanding with ste and nando.
surprise surprise fabio injured again eh!!!!! gutted for him.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

And therefore, by your own logic, it was played at the perfect pace to get it through the gap...if he'd hit it softer, it wouldn't have made it, the chance would have petered out and we wouldn't have scored. Perfect pass in the situation at the time. Well played Lucas.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostUsain Bolt would've struggled to get to it.
It was slightly overhit, because Lucas had to put some purchase on it to get it through the gap.

Torres was too slow to react. How can you argue against Lucas' merits as he's clearly been our player of the season. Look at the MoM threads.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostUsain Bolt would've struggled to get to it.

Or the wrong pass to make, the wrong choice, that just happened to go our way as the ball bounced out of the tackle. If it could only be over hit, or intercepted, then surely the pass wasn't onOriginally posted by Scratch View PostAnd therefore, by your own logic, it was played at the perfect pace to get it through the gap...if he'd hit it softer, it wouldn't have made it, the chance would have petered out and we wouldn't have scored. No, I thought Lucas went to sleep.Originally posted by Daffy Duck View PostDid anyone else think that bodycheck on Lucas after which Kalinić nearly scored should have been a foul? I mean, come on, the guy got bulldozed from behind his back like it was a hockey match

I think you ought to seek out your own psychologist
