    Are our finances getting better?

Deloitte have published their annual report, it says we generated the 7th highest amount of money in europe over the past 12 months, united were 3rd, arsenal and chelsea 5th and 6th.

The interesting thing is, if you ignore match day revenue (we all know we need a new stadium) we're £12m ahead of Chelsea and £20m ahead of Arsenal. We're still £23m behind united but as they won the double last year they obviously generated more revenue through TV deals etc.

I know we still have debt (which I believe has also reduced this year??) and we need to build a stadium, but it looks like Purslow and Ayre are doing a good job.

I dont think anyone has ever doubted that Christian and Pam are doing a fantastic job.

I think this illustrates how badly we need the new stadium:

      Matchday Revenue:
      Man Utd.....£106.8m
      Arsenal......£100.1m
      Chelsea......£74.5m
      Liverpool.....£42.5m

Broadcasting Revenue we're not that far behind (obviously it depends on how far we get in various competitions), and commercial revenue we're above Chelsea and Arsenal but benind Man Utd, its the lack of the stadium that is costing us badly.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Chelsea's stadium isn't much (if it even is) bigger than ours so I wonder what they're doing to dwarf our matchday £££

I also imagine there corporate packages are huge in comparison with ours.

So basically once we get our new stadium, we'll be like what Arsenal are now - bringing in more revenue in 3 games than Wigan get all season.

If we were to raise our ticket prices, would we still feasibly fill the 45,000 odd seats, or would we be left with a half full stadium.

Obviously, there would be uproar and cries about fleecing the fans, but the question is would we still fill out the stadium?

For me I think we should be looking to build somewhere around 80,000:-

                      50,000 Season tickets
                      10,000 fan club tickets
                      10,000 corporate
                      5,000 away fans
5,000 other (league officials, former players, tickets for player familes, staff etc etc)

Disappointing thing is that you could go back in time to any of the previous 13years and this article would read exactly the same regarding our finances in comparison to ManU's.

Ever since they started extending old trafford in 1996 their match day revenue has increased on a annual basis.

The question isnt: can we afford to build a new stadium. The question is: can we afford NOT to build a new stadium.

As well as prices etc don't they also have the hotel at the ground so that has to make a major contribution, if all the pubs and chip-vans revenue was added to our revenue what would our figure be

It should be, but for too long it hasn't been
