Bit of an Irish thread, this one

Not the first time I've thought this but I reckon Sean St Leger would be a great option for Carra's replacement when the inevitable day comes. I sat in Croke Park watching the guy against Italy and he was excellent in his positioning and distribution (and he scored a great headed goal that day too). Bearing in mind he was sharing the central defence with McShane tonight he was veryimpressive. Not once did he misplace a pass and he always looked for the gaps looking forward. He can carry the ball comfortably and he's a threat at set pieces. Hugely intelligent and makes defending look easy most of thetime - a modern day Alan Hansen.

A side note to mention James McCarthy. He looks like a young Stevie Gerrard. Keep an eye out for him if he gets his game next Monday. I thought we were in for him at some stage last season.

Nah, Irish players werent good enough to qualify for the world cup, so too rubbish for us.
Bite...go on...you know you want to
Nobody who gets humiliated that badly in qualification, deserves to play for LFC.

        Yep.

Saw a docu about Barry Fry years ago at Posh and he rated this lad highly.
A 25 year old playing for Preston now, might not be LFC quality though..

Seen bits and bobs of McCarthy and really annoyed we never followed up our interest. Or did he turn us down? We definitely had him at Melwood for a week or two.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Maybe he didn't want to go from being a 1st choice SPL player to playing for our reserves

He's more Irish than Tony Cascarino!

Talk of Gary Cahill, Jamie O'Hara and Kevin Nolan's ancestory being used now that Fifa have removed a rule regarding under 21 representation.

Good chance that Cahill and Nolan's head might get turned with not really irish managers in Colye and Hughton.

How Danny Murphy never played for Ireland is beyond me.

I'd pass on St. Ledger for Liverpool thanks, he's in development and needs games. He'd not get the chance at Liverpool. I'd like to see him in the premiership every week for a year or two before I'd make judgement on liverpool worthyness.

Stephen Kelly had a great game at RB last night which was great to see, might keep that mountain goat McShane on the bench.

Was that not the 'Big Ron Football Manager' programme? If I remember correctly, St Ledger was a cock in that programme, thinking he was some sort of superstar, contributing heavily in getting the manager sacked.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Thought Richard Dunne would have been a good signing for £5m at the end of last season. No one else did here though.
