You talk a lot of sense fella. I think you're right that injuries really haven't helped. Hopefully that's the reason and next year we can field what is close to our first choice 11 for a majority of the season. I guess for a majority this year we've had key players out at the same time.

A quality LB that's made of glass, and a young Argentine that is really, really struggling.
Riise was poor in his last season, but had six (?) good seasons prior to then. A full back that would score five goals a season - more than our current back line put together almost! Warnock has also gone on to be a very good full back.

Whilst neither are world class, we've spent and lost money on Dossena, signed Aurelio (who is good but made of glass) and brought Insua through (who could be good, but looks gash at times)... and that position is no stronger now than it was five years ago.

They all need to suck it.

I have defended Rafa a lot this season in the face of defeats, but can't defend anything about that performance. It wasn't working first half, and his subs did nothing to correct this. He has an obsession with the formation over individuals which becomes ridiculous at times.

Having said that, Gerrard, Insua, and Kuyt were absolutely abysmal tonight. Torres was as bad, but at least he's got the excuse that he is coming back from injury.

Players and manager were collectively **** tonight. But what is to be done? If Rafa goes and we are fifth who on earth will we get as manager, and who on earth would want to come to the club with no money and the current ownership situation? Despite everything, I'd still give Rafa another season, provided our top players were willing to stay under him. He proved last year that he can deliver a title challenge in the Premiership, and we have been ravaged by injuries all season this year.

Trying to stay more positive, I still think we can make 4th, it's just that tonight has removed the room for error in the rest of the season and we'll need to go to places like Birmingham and win away.

Really not surprised with the result. TBH, I'm really not that bothered and I gave up fourth spot weeks ago. While I will always support this club, I find that this current team has lost my support.

Y'all know how I feel about Rafa so I won't rant in this thread.

However for the first time ever I fell asleep while watching our team. While I was asleep I had a dream that Rafa had resigned!!!! But when I woke up he was still there

I feel sad - some big, big changes need to occur at Liverpool before next season. I dont know what the **** has happened but the wheels have well and truly fallen off Rafa's side.

                          Gerrard
I dont know what has happened to him. He's had injuries before but he's never taken so long to rediscover his form. He is playing without passion. His shooting has been woeful. He doesn't look a shadow of the player we know he can be.

                          Alonso
Wow, how we have missed him. He MADE the 4-2-3-1 system work by linking defence, midfield and attack with his intelligent passing. He was a joy to watch. To play our formation we need a player like him. Lucas isn't a bad player but he is nowhere near the standard we need. How many times tonight did he exachange passes with defenders? He plays it sideways and backwards far, far too often.

                          Carragher
I am sick to ****ing death of watching Carragher wasting possession with his awful long range 'passes' - every game! Also, I dont know what's going on with his recent comments, but Im sure he is clever enough to realise that its not what we need to be reading about at the moment. Another indication that something is seriously wrong at the club.

                          Lack of striker cover
If we had had a decent backup for Torres I think we may well have won the league last year. That was one area that demanded improvement and yet Benitez didn't sign a backup striker. **** knows why. It's come back to haunt us again this season. Rafa has to take all of the blame on this one.

                          Signings
Rafa's signings just haven't worked out. I think Johnson was a pretty good buy, but before him, we're ggoing back to Mascherano. It's just not good enough really, especially when it's the same positions we've needed to strengthen for a number of years now.

The last game I remember enjoying was when we beat Utd earlier in the season. It's one thing to have a couple of bad runs throughout the season, but we have played poorly in 90% of our games. It has been a horrible, horrible year. I honestly cant wait for the football season to be over - sick of watching us right now. Something needs to change.

                            In Rafa we trust.....

But just in case they do sack him, we should bring back Roy Evans, I think he could do well with a 2nd chance. Or even be a bit adventurous and try getting Steve Mclaren, I rate him as a good English manager.

But the players need to take the share of the blame for this performance. Rafa can only do so much and the players just are not showing any heart.

                            I love big boobs.

Kris agree with what you saying!

After the game last night I felt as though I could write a number of names on scraps of paper, pick them out of a hat and pick 11 players who had more interest to play for liverpool.

                                Torres:
I think he was trying hard, with limited possesion. In the 2nd half he came into midfield, wide everywhere to go searching for the ball. His 'chances' weren't as good as the commentators were making out.

Carra: needs to learn to pass short and keep the ball.

Kuyt: I don't know what he did last night.

Greek: I love this guy the more I see him, in a woeful season at least something has shone!
