well if the information is good, the board seem to think it's possible. big if, but if that's really their idea, then maybe they think they have a shot at him.

The challenge could appeal to him - it's feasible that he would want to test himself in one of the best leagues in the world. And despite our current position, the job is still very prestigious. Unlikely, but you never know!

From Bayerns point of view, they won't let him go. No chance. Unless we pay them a ridiculous amount of money.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yeah I don't think we've any chance of getting Bayern to release Van Gaal, but we'd be wrong not to give it a try!

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Van Gaal is my number one choice.

Why would he leave Bayern also? He's built a great side their, Champions, CL finalists etc etc.

Why would he come to our ****ed up side??

This thread and 'who do Est'ers want as manager' are basically discussing the same point but dividing posts. Would it be possible to merge mods?

Because he has done the double, and reached a champions league final. I don't think it will get any better for him. He has one year left on his contract and wouldn't be too expensive to get.

Anyone who comes to Liverpool as manager simply can not fail. If we finish 7th again no one will point the blame at the new coach, people will say the rot had already set in. It is probably going to be the only season in 20 years where the expectations are set to a more reasonable level.

In fact, the expectations are probably going to be lower than what they should be. I think it is easily possible for a manager to come in and make the top 4 with some luck in the transfer market. Should the new manager get that he would be seen as a success.

Believe me, now is the time to come and manage Liverpool.
