I really hope those cunts don't appoint a manager, they'll just choose a puppet who won't cause them any grief. It's probably been said many times already, but Dalglish should manage us in the interim until we have new owners.

****s sake. Look at you all predicting Armageddon. We haven't won a trophy for 4 years for ****s sake. We lost 19 games last season and no matter how badly we played nothing was ever changing under Rafa. Same tactics, same formations week after week. Just accept that he's gone and get over it now.
Were moving on, we will have an experienced new manager in place before the world cup is over and our international star players will come back to a coach with fresh ideas, hopefully a more attacking approach. Then next season we wont get beat every ****ing week by more ****e teams. Maybe we'll only lose 5-7 games next season rather than ****ing 19
In short, stop crying already maybe the rot is over now and we can move forward with a positive manager

Is this new manager going to pay off our debts and invest in players? The rot is nowhere near to being over.Originally posted by -V- View Post

We might play better for a bit under a new manager but the unstable boardroom and lack of money will still be there.

Maybe, but this thread isn't about whats going on in the financial side. This is about who's going to get the best out of the playing squad, Rafa Benitez's playing squad.
Id say Pellegrini, Dalglish, Hiddink, Van Gaal etc are all capable of using a better approach to tackle the premiership than Rafa has done.
Neither Rafa nor any other coach can make our off-field problems go away or pay off our debts, but what matters if that we have a coach who can get the best out of the playing squad

Which will make **** all difference if we can't get more players in and suffer the same injury problems.Originally posted by -V- View PostMaybe, but this thread isn't about whats going on in the financial side. I also think you are deluded regarding Dalglish in that sense, football has moved on a lot since he last managed.

Unfortunately, the current state of the club off-field makes getting all but one of these guys very unlikely. Kenny would be great for us IMO, but he doesn't seem to want it.Originally posted by -V- View PostMaybe, but this thread isn't about whats going on in the financial side. LOUIS VAN GAAL - 20/1Originally posted by Shaggy View PostFor me he is the standout candidate by an absolute country mile. Free as well, which in our position cannot be sniffed at.
One of the most successful coaches around. Followed up Dutch league success with AZ by leading Bayern Munich to a domestic double, as well as a Champions League final, his second European Cup win after his victory with Ajax in 1995.

Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

I think he'd be a retrograde step because his lack of player discipline is well noted.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostSven is not the worst manager in the world, I think he'd do a decent job in the short term. I'd rather we got others in, but I wouldn't be throwing my toys out the pram if we got him in.
However, my post was pointing out the contradiction of being a 'life-long' Liverpool fan, and needing to tell the Sun about it.
He's either extremely ignorant, extremely insensitive, or just plain lying. And my money is on the last of those. I don't want any of those three things, tbf.Really?

why do people think that after not managing for 15 years that the king is the manager we need?
how did he do at newcastle? how much money did he have to win one title and no youngsters coming through at blackburn?
what did he do with his dream team combination at celtic?
now he did great for us last time but its 20 years ago how many mangers from then are great now. i can think of only one who is doing ok and i dont like him very much.
also imagine if we dont do well how some fans may turn on kenny and thats not what he deserves at all.

The rot will never be over before the two cunts have sold out 100%. We are on the edge of the abyss, unfortunately rose tinted glass will not save us

We had one his name if RafaOriginally posted by joyno View PostMartin O'Neill for me, basically because he wants the job with a passion.
i think he thought he was going to get the job last time round, so maybe he has a plan, fuked if i know to be honest still reeling after the demise of the great man Rafa.
would like to go british, not hodgson though he bottled it at blackburn and mclaren got middlesbro to the europa cup final, **** it im going for phil thompson, someone who would cry when we cried and would be ecstatic when we felt ecstatic. thats it then sorted

and Fagan too. the whole bootroom support structure was there.Originally posted by Tatterdemalion View PostWhen he was managing us, Bob Paisely was also still in the background.
I am not trying to lessen what he has achieved (still the only man to win the title with two different teams i think? )
i just dont see how he is the person to take us forwards now. this doesnt mean he isnt an asset for the club it just means i dont think he should be manager.

I am still very disappointed about Rafa leaving, for me the only choice can be Kenny for many reasons, the most important one being his infectious passion for the club. Kenny could get this team buzzing and would keep the Americans straight.
Out of the other candidates I would be interested in Rijkaard most of all purely because he plays attacking football and brings a freshness with him plus he has won a couple of big titles. The rest are all a bit washed up for me.
