i think we have too many tea ladies and a rebalancing of the tea lady to non tea lady ratio is what is needed. because of Parrys watefulness with hiring an extortionate number of tea ladies the club is on its knees. The tea ladies dont score any goals or stop any. Taking into account that the tea ladies are not in the players market that is the answer to all our problems i can see why we are going this wayOriginally posted by Neil Young View PostPurslow wants to appoint Cameregg so we can have massive cuts in the playing staff.

Like I said, I don't particularly like him, but when you look at his record as a manager it's success all the way:
Wycombe - second on goal difference in first year, then two successive promotions
Leicester - Three consecutive top ten premiership finishes, won the league cup and twice finalists. With Leicester.
Celtic - three league titles, three scottish cups, one league cup in five years, including first domestic treble since 1969.
Villa - has improved them year on year, delivering their best points tally in the premiership, and finishing ahead of us this year despite similar financial restrictions under American ownership.
He's got the best record of those left in the ring.....apart from Kenny himself, which seems unlikely to happen.
I'm just ncreasingly worried about Hodgson when you look at his record.....he's done wonders with Fulham as underdogs, but there's a big difference between that and actually achieving success with a big club.

They have had considerably more money to spend than us in the last 2 seasons.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostLike I said, I don't particularly like him, but when you look at his record as a manager it's success all the way:

Agreed, I think this would be a horrible mistake, no trophies outside Scandinavia, his transfer record doesnt look too good, hasn't a clue in away games, the job he did at Blackburn and I dont think players will be inspired in pre season when they turn up at training to see him there.Originally posted by calvoboy View Post

He's a decent manager as he's proven but I think thats it really and I want him nowhere near here.

To be fair though, Notts County have had more to spend than us in the last 2 seasons!Originally posted by Mattshark View PostThey have had considerably more money to spend than us in the last 2 seasons.
If you look at the last 5 seasons though (much as I really despise the source, I couldn't find another quickly googling - I'll give myself 20 lashes as penance for quoting it) this shows that O'Neill's had a lot less to work with...http://www.aloadofcomplete-toss.com/...ton-villa.html
[edit - HA! Hadn't realised the mods had done that to links from that ****e/site....fair play, I'll spare myself the lashes!]Last edited by calvoboy; 08-06-10, 04:49 PM.

Look at it over O'Neills time there, they have had more. Last couple of seasons are important too.Originally posted by calvoboy View PostTo be fair though, Notts County have had more to spend than us in the last 2 seasons!

Either way i hope they appoint a manager soon as it would be a farce if we get into July with nobody in charge.
If its a short term appointment then i think most fans will be ok with Dalglish as manager till new owners turn up. Assuming we give him top quality backroom staff with someone like McAllister as his assistant manager i think we'd be fine through the next 12 months. Also i think he would be able to talk Torres,Stevie and possibly Masher into staying. I dont think eithe MoN or Hodgson could.
