By "a nightmare to manage" do you mean he wouldn't just do what he was told if he didn't think it was in the best interests of the club?

so if you owned a business and one of your employees constantly argued with you and slagged you off you wouldnt want someone different?

I am not saying that Rafa was wrong obviously most fans are happy he did and that he gave us some insight to what was happening but that is the reason he went and the poor season gave them the opportunity to do it.

as an employer surely they wanted someone to do as they where told?

also there may be some benifit to everyone pulling in the same direction.

Though if i had my was Rafa would still be manager but this doesnt mean i cant see why he went.

The point is you can take your argument and frame it completely differently - to make their lives easier they downgraded the manager, the most important person at the club. Or if you prefer, they wanted a manager in there who wouldn't fight them and limit their efforts to siphon off money from the club. They wanted a stooge, a yes-man, a puppet and Rafa wasn't that so he had to go.

But I really don't care what their intentions were. The fact is they sacked the manager and will replace him with an inferior model. F*ck their "reasoning" - it wasn't in the interests of the club or the fans.

I dont think looking at the reality is misguided. I would love Rafa as manager and out of the other managers Capello or Pelligrini (not sure about Pelligrini but of the names mentioned he is the most interesting) however they may not be the best managers for the situation that the club is in.

Is it not best to manage the real situation we are in now rather than having the **** owners md etc etc and having a manager whose talents are not best suited to that situation?

This doesnt change the fact we should get the yanks out and in my opinion the best way is the boycott of spending money that goes to the club and therefor to the debt or the yanks to service the debt.

It doesnt change the fact that yes woy isnt the choice we all want.

However it may mean he is the best man for the place where we are now.
