i said i'd have roy in the sense that someone else brought him up and i wouldn't object to it. i was more agreeing that that would be an ok sort of choice, and i stand by that.

the problem is that at the time i couldn't see someone like pellegrini coming to us. i didn't think kenny would want to do it. things have changed. if those two candidates have been sussed out and are interested in the job, then hiring hodgson shows that we really are in a mess.

i don't have huge qualms about roy coming because of who he is or because i think he will ruin the club. my concern is more that we have passed up better alternatives that i never thought would be there for us. i'm sure he'll do a passable but probably not really inspiring job when you think of what the other two could have brought to the club.

i'd love to be wrong about that, i'll support him.

Big thing for me is that i don't think we'd be appointing a manager that would inspire Stevie and Torres etc to stay if the club chooses Hodgson, whereas the other two managers mentioned may be able to do that.

It's a big part of why i'd be very dissapointed with this appointment should it go ahead, also it would imply, imo, that no rich lfc benefactor is on the immediate horizon.

I agree with you that in the short term it is easier managing compliant people but the Rafa situation is probably a bit like the one where the risk manager for (I think it was) HBOS was sacked for constantly pointing out to the board the risks they were running - they didn't like what he was telling them, maybe if they'd listened the company would still exist and we wouldn't have had to bail them out.

Maybe Rafa was wrong and Hodgson will transform us. Though I obviously want that to happen strangely and irrationally I have this bit of me wanting Rafa to be proved right.
I am not defending the owners or purslow etc. Just incase anyone thinks I am. I would rather that Rafa was there to put pressure on those idiots. Or anyone is putting pressure on them. Not sure its totally like the risk manager. It is similar no doubt.

I just think that there may be some positives to having woy right now. There might not be. If we are in the **** and get a manager who isnt good at managing in that situation but is great in a club that is challenging then it may not be what we want but it is the best for the moment.

I wish they would get a ****ing move on! We seem to hear about Benayoun levaing for Chelsea almost a done deal sum rags say (rags i kno). If they sell ANY Liverpool player without us havn a gaffer in chagre then they really are thick *******s (we kno they are already!) I want it sorted ASAP. Hodgson whoever it maybe sort it out for **** sake! Then again maybe we will end up with Jurgen the German, wouldnt be suprised if we did. These yanks seems to love to piss the fans off and afterall he does kno alot about Adidas and Nike and Reebok! wouldnt put it past these cunts! If this continues to drag can see me asking for fat Sam! (hangs his head in shame!) **** knows how much the new boss would have to spend, probably £10mill if that! Mascherano can leave for £35mill if he wants to . £30million for a anchor man? a man who tidies up in midfield? as good as he is, is any defensive midfielder worth £30+million? i dont think he is. You could sell him and buy Krasic and Mata ffs. Let him go much rather that than Gerrard or Torres. Am i still going on? still no gaffer i see! sort it out you ****ing ******s!!! How about Martin Jol? im not advocating him just asking your opinions
When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope we use.

They wanted a stooge, a yes-man, a puppet and Rafa wasn't that so he had to go.

But I really don't care what their intentions were. The fact is they sacked the manager and will replace him with an inferior model. F*ck their "reasoning" - it wasn't in the interests of the club or the fans.

                  In english :
Christian Purslow has contacted Jean-Claude Dassier, président of Olympique de Marseille, to be allowed to call Didier Deschamps and his agent, Mr Bernes.
That was accepted but Mr Dassier precise that there is no chance deschamps could leave Marseille, even in dream.

The actual tendency is to extend his contract.
Some others coaches are named : Hodgson, Pellegrini, O'Neill, Bilic, Hugues

You probably know that Deschamps is a "God" here in marseille.
Last player to have won a title : Champions League 1993, and first coach to have won a title untill 17 years : Ligue 1 and League Cup this year.

Nevertheless, he is in total opposition with the actual manager, José anigo, who wants to keep his prerogatives on transfers.
There is actually an intestine war (don't know if you use this expression) between Deschamps and Anigo.
The final decision between the two will be taken by Margarita Louis-Dreyfus, widow of Robert Louis-Dreyfus and owner of the club.

I can't believe that he can leave Marseille but it's probably difficult to refuse an historical club as Liverpool.

good question. If we get some money, keep Torres and have Roy as manager, I'd be more than happy with that. The Roy discussion is so tied up with owner issues and the potential for players to leave that it doesn't seem like a football discussion any more.

Anyway, I like Roy and really like the way he conducts himself. Would be a great representative of LFC.

Would love Deschamps. What he's done with Marseille is impressive.

Monaco and Juventus was very good aswell, he does have his disagreements with the board though.

I'd say that's a good thing, we need someone to fight our cause. Don't want a yes man.

I'm ****in well pissed off. We've lost one of the best managers in the world and are looking at getting some completely average dickhead in. Didier Delmonte FFS.

The dicks on the board had no idea if they could improve on Benitez. They just didn't want anyone standing up to them, so they ****ed us up to make life easier for themselves.
