    The New Manager Thread

Personaly, i would love Mourinho, but doubt he would come due to the lack of cash.

Hiddink wont come because of his respect to chelsea.

Possibly, i was thinking, if the barca elections go the wrong way, Guardiola has refused to sign new contract unless elections are done - if he does not agree with election he could be looking elsewhere. Worth a gamble imo.

Who ever comes in wont have much cash to spend without flogging Torres (and maybe Gerrard too).

I'll get slated for this but I'd go for Martin o"Neill. He gets a lot out of his players, probably even more than Jose
I make no apologies, this is me

Jose is the only one for me if rafa goes. He has that magic touch and can put the right mentality into the team. He is what we need to get back on top. The guy was made for us.

We've spent nothing net for 18 months now. Can you imagine how horrific our finances will be with a huge pay off for Rafa/his staff and no CL football the next season?

We've no spare cash as it is, any new manager will get nothing. And its all well and good saying "Jose would love to manage Gerrard" etc etc but its a squad with zero money, an ageing Gerrard and Carra, no cover for an injury prone Torres etc etc.

He's currently in charge of the only half decent squad in Italy and is on a huge contract, why would he bother? Since Porto he's took the two safe options, a Chelsea team who finished 2nd and CL semi finalists with billions to spend, and the only good team in Italy. I'd love him here but cant see why he'd want to. "Bring back the wounded giant" or whatever is just romantic nonsense imo.

We're stuck with the mid level types I think, wont cost a lot, will be happy with the squad he'll inherit etc.

The best I think we could do is taking a chance on Slaven Bilic types, young managers, motivated and will relish the challenge despite the lack of cash. I really think the already world class managers will think "**** that" despite how big we are.

IF Rafa was to go, and assuming we wouldn't have the money to get a big name in, then I'd be tempted to go for McLeish or Martinez. SRSLY

Oh I nearly forgot, **** OFF MOURINHO.

After tonight's display and this season in general i'd sack Rafa tonight and re-appoint him tomorrow just so I could sack him again on Wednesday.

We definitely need new finances and are a few world class players short but I also think a lot of managers could get more out of this current team than we've seen this season. It would be Jose for me but without new owners we'd never get him.

Chris, remember Rafa guaranteed us 4th spot. I'd assume he'd do the honourable thing and part ways by mutual consent.

I think if he is an honourable man, he would resign if he cant finish 4th.
