I think the two go hand in hand. I don't think Gerrard would rate Lucas highly as a player.

That position alongside Masch and behind Gerrard is a key one that needs to be sorted, if we are to make any improvements imo.

Last season Gerrard played magically with Lucas behind him and no Alonso, dont know if I would agree with you on that point. Do agree that I would like to see someone with more creativity than Lucas/ Mascherano in that position.

I think it's because he cannot understand how on earth, no matter how **** he plays, Kuyt seems to be undropable, that is all. I believe there are a number of us who cannot understand this and therefore vent our frustrations out in the form of negative/unconstructive posts on the matter.
