Ok so they dont want to fight for Rafa but what about the fans that spend their hard earned cash travelling around supporting these players.

Or how about thereselves, who next season (with a new manager) will be in the Europa league if there lucky!

there's probably fifty better qualified people we could get on a free until the end of the season than sammy lee.

However, I genuinely think that rafa has lost the plot. We are a team thats better without the ball than with. We have no one in the middle of the pitch that can get hold of the ball and do something with it.

We get it, we give it away - that's been the pattern this season and until lucas is removed from the starting line up it will continue to happen. We cannot dominate the middle of the pitch and therefore we end up playing like pansies and losing matches.

For the lucas lovers im not saying that its all his fault but his position is perhaps the most important for us or any other team in that he's supposed to be the playmaker. The player that links defence to midfield seamlessly but the lad is not capable of anything like that.

He's just an ordinary player who isnt good enough to play for a top side.

There are rumours that Gerrard has been carrying an injury which requires urgery all season. We know Torres' fitness is a problem. I'd say all of the above. They look completely fed up.

Got to agree with this. I don't and never will buy this "not playing for the manager" ****e. It's criminal. What about the supporters? What about THEMSELVES? Surely every time you go onto a football pitch, no matter whether it's Wembley or the park with your mates, you wanna play well? Do the best you can? Why would they humiliate themselves live on TV with shameful performances, just cos they don't fancy the manager anymore? It's bull. I'm not having a go at anyone who thinks that's the case, more the players. Not believing in the manager is no ****ing excuse when you're wearing the Liver Bird on your chest FFS. They are a disgrace.

And as one of them, of course i agree that they should be battling for the fans. As i said to shaggy though, they're only human and in an ideal world, they'd never let their heads drop but in reality, that can happen. Would you honestly say that us as fans, have never let our heads drop? Once you lose belief, you lose hope and desire. There's no real coming back from that.

My original question stands though. As wrong as it is, the prospect of them no longer having the desire to fight for Rafa is a realistic one, it CAN (or could have) happen(ed). So what would you do then? Sell them all? In the cold light of day and logic, we both know that's not a remotely realistic option.

are you watching the same team I am. Our team is full of **** hence the reason why we were just beaten by a team that we would have spanked by four last season.

Gerrard was ****, Torres was **** but how many times do they have to put up with the utter **** that surrounds them. The likes of kuyt and his ****budies lucas and insua arent good enough to lace gerrards boots let alone share a dressing room with him.

Eventually, all players get tired of fighting a dead end cause. No matter what gerrard and torres do they know that benitez will **** this season up for the team with his constant selections of his preferred trio.

Whats the point ?

Fans are great at making excuses for their favourites, who is he surrounded by, Gerrard, Mascherano, Riera and Kuyt all of which played a major part in us coming so close to winning the title last season.

Thers a lot wrong with the club at the moment but if Torres wants out at the end of one bad season when he has contributed **** all then good luck to him.

He's right though mate. I dont like it when people's heads drop and they whinge, but they're only human. In an ideal world, they'd roll up their sleeves and fight for it - which had been happening not so long ago, but there comes a point where anyone's patience would run out.

Oh come on hes been playing **** from day one of the season (as has Torres)

I dont think you can blame their entire seasons form on the manager

Sooner or later they have to take responsibility themselves

I agree about Kenny, I'd be dead against him coming back as manager for more reasons than one, but Sammy wouldn't be my idea of a replacement, temporary or otherwise.

It's truly heartbreaking. It's like being hooked on misery. I keep promising myself I'll ignore our games and try and get on with my life but I can't stop watching us and hoping. Every time, every ****ing time ihave to die a little death again.

Are you Steven Gerrard's ego?

over the last two seasons he's been one of the worlds best players and since alonso's departure he just cant be bothered.

He knows as the rest of us do that teams will mark him and torres tightly and that he is expected to perform miracles week in week out because there is no one else in the team capable of doing anything remotely similar.

Sorry mate, Gerrards not the problem. You need to take a closer look at the manager.
