Why is it?

Why cant a new manager use the quality that's already here (and it is here, it's just the current manager can no longer bring it out) and make a few tweaks to mould it into his own team? Why would that need to take 5 years?

We have some quality, not a lot though, new managers plead time unless they have money, which we don't have.

You say that you cant blame it all on rafa, and rightly so, but this indicates that you feel that SOME of it is his fault. However, you've not once, as far as i can see, attributed any blame towards him or made him accountable for anything.

If you dont genuinely believe he should take any blame, that'd be your perogative. But dont imply that you think he's not entirely blameless.

It's truly heartbreaking. It's like being hooked on misery. I keep promising myself I'll ignore our games and try and get on with my life but I can't stop watching us and hoping. Every time, every ****ing time ihave to die a little death again.

We will get better at some point, when who knows but we will and that is why we continue to follow our team because we're the best fans in the world.

It is painful to watch but we have to all stick together during this hard time.

The sentiment was fine and the team's performance certainly justified it, but i didnt understand the rush to thrust it in his face so desperately.

Furthermore, when only one of his seasons in charge yielded a title challenge, i dont know why there was such a desire for such a long contract. Evidence suggested that last season was the exception to the rule and this season backs that up emphatically.

Personally I think they tied him up because of the performance last season (not only on the pitch)

They looked at what was spent (he broken even I think) thought look where he got us with so little investment

Thought this is the way for us and thats how they planned to operate for the next few years

This showed so little foresight (I mean Hicks even slagged City off for not going about running a football club in the right way) in regards to the opposition

In addition its become a double whammy because we wont get 4th and they will now be saddled with a manager they will have to spend a fortune to can (which they cant afford)

I've been resigned to a fall from grace for our club since the summer. Its come far quicker than I thought and I'm fully resigned to seeing consistant mid-table finishes until the current owners leave

What gets my goat tonight, is that part from Johnson and Babel it was exactly the same team that started against Wigan - I was really hoping one or two got dropped and Rafa showed some balls and some adventure. No, same ****, different day.

I do read them and i'm telling you what's coming across to me. You can eff and blind all you like. To me, 10% of what you say is from a critical angle, and 90% isnt.

I genuinely dont recall reading a 'list of criticisms of Benitez' from you. If i did, i'd acknowledge it. I'm not in the habit of lying. And i'm not suggesting you are, nor that you didnt post such a list. I just dont remember reading it. It's possible that i did and forgot.

Some merit there, but (and a big but) Rafa is responsible for the team that he puts out, apart from Benni, he had a full strength side to put out tonight and we still didn't get a result.
