One game doesn't change a manager's fate, just like one season doesn't (shouldn't). I've never seen Rafa look so nervous on the bench, it was like him finally allowing all his children to go on a family bungee jump and he was left watching. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it but the parent would like a return to normality asap!

Expect Maxi and Aquilani on the bench very soon with Lucas taking his place next to Mascher and Kuyt taking back HIS temporarily vacated place on the right. And this won't be against manure, this will be against Lille!!

We would have to get a world class replacement for me to consider letting rafa go, especially if we finished 4th and won the Europa cup.

He's been patient with both Babel and Aquilani and is finally getting to see the benefits. He's stuck to his guns and if he stays on I feel he would be in a position to reap the rewards.

What Liverpool need is a transfer kitty, not a new manager. Getting a new Left Back alone would have turned many draws and defeats this season in our favour. Never mind, a top class reserve striker.
      Forwards.......

How mutually inclusive are those two things though? Hard to achieve IMO.

Aye. Crouch was perfect. We need the Carlo Cudicini of strikers, but there aren't many about
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Crouch was perfect, but decided he wanted out - so not that perfect

How the feck Ginsoak managed to keep people like Solskjaer happy all that time, i will never know.

After not seeing any of last nights wonderful match I can definately 100% say I've not changed my mind one little bit and would not like Rafa to stay on for another season.

                  Time for a change.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This season has been nothing short of disastrous, but that notwithstanding there are certain circumstances under which I would grant Rafa a further year's grace. If he fails to get us into the top 4 then IMO that would make his position untenable.

winning all our remaining games wouldn't change my mind. he's had his time and whether we sneak 4th or not (I think we will get it), I can't stand the thought of another season of bizarre decisions and frustration.

If in August Rafa is here and Kuyt is starting on the right I'll surely lose the will to live. I'd rather wash my knob with a cheesegrater.

The ideal situation would be for us to clinch 4th on the final day and Rafa does a lap of honour with his family savouring the applause and plaudits for securing champions league football and we part on good terms.

He gets the Madrid job and we get hope/a fresh beginning.

I don't think Rafa would be the best man to spend 50Mill and bring in the right players though.

He did bring Torres, Agger, Mascherano, Reina and developed Gerrard into a world class player, elevated Carragher into one of the world's best stoppers 3 years ago ... and I can still come with other players but can't be arsed. Kind of invalidate your point though.
