I didn't mean for this thread to turn into an N'Gog v Owen debate. My point was that we needed at least 1 other striker. If we had no money to spend, that should have been Owen. If we did, we should have considered someone else. The fact that Rafa chose to leave us thread bare up front, is IMO why why have struggled so much this season.

I'm still not really convinced by this argument. For me the big problem goal scoring wise was the loss of the goals from Gerrard - who wasn't a striker in the first place. I agree that we did to a degree lack goal scorers I'm not convinced that a goal scorer has to be a striker.

I also think more holistic problems playing in the opposition half and defending as a team cost us far more points that would have been gained by the addition of a striker of the abilities of those being mentioned.

You'd hope we're all on the same side just different opinions on what should happen!

At the end of the day this has been a ****ing dreadful season made up by several factors.

I hope that whatever the outcome in the summer with regards the owners (c*nts), manager and players coming and going we are all on the same side come the start of the next season!
