So reading between the lines if we don't drastically improve the quality in the squad Torres will leave at the end of next season which is more than fair enough in my opinion.

Shame the yanks won't give 2 flying ****s about it.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Torres wants quality, can't really blame him..

      Juan Mata - £20,000,000 - https://www.telegraph.co.uk/.../live...Juan-Mata.html
      Arda Turan - £13,000,000 - http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...750694&cc=5739
James Milner - £17,000,000.. no link but would love him not sure on price
      Taye Taiwo - £11,000,000 - http://nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=14532
      Simon Kjaer - £9,000,000 - http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...l?action=Popup
Milan Jovanovic - Pre Contract - DONE
= £70,000,000 that's roughly the cost of quality and we don't have that kind of money

Even with the sales of say.. Skrtel, Degen, Aurelio, Kuyt, Babel, Riera, Plessis plus Voronin and Dossena we would still need to find over £20m add to that the amount of change it doesn't look possible

Do you find 'having a real good go at teams' entertaining?

Maybe you misunderstand my point, maybe I haven't made my point clear enough? I'm not necessarily suggesting that football has to always be played with flair to be entertaining, a battle between two passionate teams is just as enthralling.

Turning up to watch us at the moment is ****ing hard work, watching us being ultra defensive and passing the ball along the back line then hoofing it upfield is boring and results in a crap atmosphere. I want us to win, but I want us to show some passion and play some football which keeps the fans interested. I don't subscribe to the idea that watching a **** game, but nicking a game with a scruffy goal is good enough. I want to see some commitment and some decent football being played on the pitch.

some of our posters on this forum will be too young to remember the days when barnes, beardsley and rush tormented opposition defences.

We played amazing football and we won everything. The two are compatible but to say that you want to play decent football takes some balls and courage which isnt the style of rafa.

It also requires a certain blend of players which we clearly dont have.

Personally, I would prefer to see us sign the following players coming in:

          - joe cole (free)
          - ashley young (£25m) or silva / mata
          - a decent left back
          - a young english / british central midfielder

          Out would go:

          - kuyt
          - benayoun
          - riera
          - lucas

I remember it well Seriously stunning football. If people think today's arsenal play some lovely stuff, they should fish out footage from our 1987-1990 teams.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I remember the good old days. Problem is with todays prices you wouldn't get no change out of £100m if we wanted that calibre of player.

Taiwo wouldn't cost that much. He has one year left on his contract.

Doubt we'd get all the money to spend. If we sold him for £70m, we'd get about £25m to spend.

Just look at Manure for the American way! Ronaldo £80m and how much has the purple nosed one spent?
