Personally, i hope we stick with the same team - the only change being Maxi out for Benny.....
we need to go at them from the off. Don't give them a second on the ball and get the crowd up for it big time as well. Hopefully we can score in the first 15minutes and i just hope that we don't get cautious if we open the scoring. Keep on attacking.
I don't have a problem with Lucas or Kuyt. I think Kuyt has played at a consistant enough level for a few years that he can be forgiven for having an off-day or two in a row. The critisism of him has been way over the top and his record for Holland perhaps suggests that LFC / Rafa maybe isnt getting the best out of him. With Lucas, i think that he has improved an awful lot over the last 12 months. People state that he isn't scoring enough or doesn't attack enough but again, who knows what job is being asked of him. I had a problem with the guy over a year ago when he couldn't pass the ball 10 yards but now I think he is solid enough and i'd actually like to see him being played in a more attacking role now and again.
That said, i would like to see both on the bench for this game. If we are 2 or 3 up and want to rest Torres / Gerrard, then i wouldn't mind seeing either player come on (i'd prefer to see Kuyt replace El Nino as opposed to NGog). The reason i would like us to keep the same team mainly is because it will allow us to hopefully carry on from the Pompey game and also sends a message to the players that if they play well, then they will more than likely keep their place. Aquilani needs to know that. It is also important for Babel as i have the feeling that he is highly motivated to make the dutch squad for the world cup and if he gets a bit of form, he could make a difference to the end of our season......
