This really should've happened.

If i was rafa, i'd have come out and said something like "We know all about his mind games and it's a clear attempt to get into the ref's mind, which we hope the referee will be strong enough not to allow. I will be keen to keep a lookout and see whether the referee has allowed his subconscious to be influenced by this, during the game" (with a cheeky 'im just joking around' grin).
